Udupi, Jun 11: All the taluks in the twin districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada experienced widespread rains during the last 24 hours, with Siddapur in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district recording the highest rainfall of 12 cms during this period.

Basavaraj, a labourer died while repairing the compound of an apartment in Brahmagiri Udupi due to landslide. A person named Narayan Kunder (65) from Manoor village of Udupi taluk slipped into a tank in his field and breathed his last. It is reported he was walking by the side of his field and could not distinguish between the field and the tank due to the swollen water level.
