Puttur, Jun 12: State Finance Commission chairman A G Kodgi has succeeded in convincing former MLA Ram Bhat, who had fielded an independent candidate for the MLC election, to withdraw the candidature of Ravikiran from the fray.
Ram Bhat had openly revolted against the BJP high command for not fielding Shakuntala Shetty for a second term from Puttur constituency. Later, Shakuntala Shetty fought the assembly election as an independent candidate with the support of Ram Bhat.
Ram Bhat and Shakuntala Shetty fielded Ravikiran as an independent candidate for the MLC election this time. They even formed an organization called ‘Swabhimani Vedike’ for this purpose.
Recently, A G Kodgi paid a visit to Ram Bhat's house and managed to convince him to withdraw his nominee. Ram Bhat has informed that the 'Swabhimani Vedike' will withdraw its nominee on Thursday June 12.
Sources informed that the dialogue between A G Kodgi and Ram Bhat will continue in the coming days and a cordial relationship will be created again in Puttur BJP.
