Kundapur, Jun 15: Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple managing trustee Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, speaking at a press conference held on Saturday here has informed, that the management of the temple is not at all engaged in any irregularity as alleged by vested interested. He expressed his willingness to take oath in the presence of the temple deity to this affect to prove his integrity and challenged his detractors to come forward and take the test of oath in the temple.
I am aware that the allegations were made at the behest of third parties. The present management of the temple has neither made any efforts to break away from temple traditions nor engaged in activities or irregularities that are detrimental to the interests of the temple. Except following the official protocol, all visiting devotees are treated equally. The department of religious affairs has never restricted the participation of the members of the temple governing council in religious performances conducted elsewhere. We never participate in illegal activities and take steps if any illegal activities conducted come to our notice, he averred.
The transfer of funds from Syndicate Bank to Canara Bank was done as per the orders of the government, and for the reason that the transferee bank offered higher interest on the deposit. I have no vested interest in this transaction, Adyantaya stated.
Regarding the allegation of performing Chandika Homa, he expressed the view that the Homa can be performed anyone anywhere. We will act immediately if such performances are held in the name of Kollur temple, he stressed.
Because of some political plotting and allegations made against the temple management, the previous temple executive officer Sanjeev Madiwala had been suspended. Steps initiated against a priest of the temple for deficiency in Pooja regimen, has been withdrawn after getting his satisfactory explanation. Legal action is contemplated in respect of a trust set up in the name of the temple goddess. After we took over the temple reins, a sum of five crore rupee was spent for development activities, and tender process will soon be set into motion for additional works totalling to Rs 7.5 crores, he explained. The temple earning has gone up by 20%, Adyantaya informed.
