Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister in 2019, says Moily

Bengaluru, Oct 24: Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily expressed confidence that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would be the “face of the country” and projected him as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that stage is set for Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister as there has been an anti-incumbency wave against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last eight months.

Moily criticized the BJP-led NDA government for its 'inexperience and misgovernance' of the economy, citing demonetisation and GST as examples. India has lost the reputation as the world’s fastest-growing economy to China due to slower pace of GDP growth, he blamed.

He praised Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka for outperforming the national average specifically in the areas of attracting industrial investments and creation of jobs.

The Karnataka government has created 14 lakh jobs compared to national level where job creation is in the negative bracket

This is the second time that Moily has projected Gandhi as prime ministerial candidate. Even Gandhi had said last month at the University of California, Berkeley that he is ready for the ‘top job’.

I do hope still that congress will and may come up.But it will never die.Atpresent many people are too fed up with this cow programm ,assault and rapes going on on daylight more than previously.Congress could have learnt from iits previous faults and give citizens security and bring up.Present govt too has not done much improvement except demonetization and cattle trafikers.With a stop to beef selling ,is the problem is not solved it continues with black deal.Lets hope progress in future.with young blood might come new era.

Mr. V, Moily has to butter RG in the right place, and sing 'Gandhi' praises for survival. Even though deep down he knows the truth. Being a Congi myself , I know for sure, we have to be look beyond ' Gandhis' to at least kick start a revival. Its become clearly evident now. RGs Modi jibing and BJP bashing in each and every speech has just become a bit too much and irritating, Rather speak what Cong is going to offer. Winning some traditional panchayat elections and bursting crackers is not revival. Cong is still very far from home when the leader lacks credibility of not holding even an office for sometime.

Do not even think about 2019, start your plan & effort for 2024, whole India is not only Karnataka and Punjab, BJP is very strong in major states at present, also Modi got considerable friends in other states, Congress should think beyond RAGA and prepare game plan for 2024, Indira & Rajeev became PM without much effort, but RAGA is less fortunate, will have to put extra ordinary effort, it is visible nowadays he is visiting temples all over, note my point if congress will be out of power for another 10 years, they will sure stop appeasing minority and adopt all the promises from BJP manifesto, like Ram Mandir, Uniform civil code, abolition of article 370 in JK and many more

In our country we have an obsession for dynasty politics or personality cult politics l. A Leader is not made, A Leader is made by circumstances, How he or she faces the crisis and solves it.
For Eg: East Pakistan(Bangladesh) made Indira the leader
LTTE issue made Rajiv the leader.

Rohingya's is a big headache for India, At the current situation if Indira or Rajiv would have been the Prime Minister they would have warned Mynmar and rehabilted Rohingya's back in Mynmar. For that we need a strong leadership which is a distant dream at the current situation.

Same way we cannot rule out Rahul Gandhi, He can be a strong leader. Just by giving bhashan's no one can be a leader. Strong discions which matter.

It's joke of the Century... Forget about 2019, Rahul Gandhi can't become PM in his entire life span & Congress don't dare to make or project any leader within the party other than anyone Gandhi Family member .. this is the fact,which everyone agree.

Anyways there is nothing wrong in dreaming, everyone has the fundamental right to dream like Moily is doing, I'm sure he can only dream, but sure wont win if he contest again.

I think by 2019 Modi will be more powerful and strong, We all should appreciate the hard work of PM Modi,we should realize one man can't change everything so drastically which was looted and destroyed by Congress for 75 years.
