Kundapur: Dog bark scares thief - falls into well, caught by locals

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Oct 28: A thief who entered a house at Tonnase of Belve gram panchayat, with the intention of stealing the cow, got scared as the dog of the house started to bark and fell in the well, which was 20 feet deep, on early morning of Friday. Subsequently, he was caught by the locals.

Ganesha Poojary of Bukkigudde, Tonnase is the person who planned to steal two calves, aged two years, from the cowshed of Santhosha Naik of Doddakumbri, Tonnase.

However, he was caught by the locals as he fell in the well and could not come out of it. The vehicle which came with Ganesha to take the stolen calves escaped from the scene. A wooden stick supposed to be brought by the thief in order to scare the inmates of the house was recovered from the verandah of the house.

Shankaranarayana police arrived on the spot after they were alerted by the locals.

People assembled in huge numbers to see this funny scene. Finally the thief was lifted out of the well with the help of the locals. A case stands registered in this regard in Shankaranarayana police station.

Anyone stealing cow (or anything for that matter), has to be punished...
Cow thief, Gold thief.... are all to be treated without mercy...
Some people in this forum are supporting the cow thieves shows their bad mentality......

By the way, I have no problem if some people consume beef...
But strictly not that beef extracted from stolen cows / calves / buffalos ....

Matter is clear from my side... no double standard in this matter..

No beef if there are no cow chors,
Because no farmer sells cow for beef and even if they sell unproductive cows, still that is not very cheap. They need to pay some money.
So beef eaters want cheap meat. So they go for stealing.
And there is no cows farms raised by those beef eaters.

That is your mentality .... Beef does not come from cows alone ..... Beef comes from Buffaloes and bulls also.... Yes, Punish who ever steals the cattle ... No mercy .... Arnab Cowsami says that 62 % of our beef export comes from Cows... As I have explained earlier, the cattles are supplied by BD people in villages as per my experience ...

It's silly to link Islam with beef. Islam traditionally originated in areas with very low cattle populations, and so did Christianity and Judaism. All these three are more dependent on goats and sheep as a source of meet. The consumption of beef is more on a 'regional basis'. Large consumers include those from Australia, North America, South America and Indian Subcontinent where the cattle are available in plenty. The Hindutva guys have gone so much into denial that they cannot accept that India has been one of the largest consumers of beef- primarily because of Hindus consuming beef.

I can give a list of restaurants in Sydney run by Hindus who offer Beef items in their menu. I do take my family once a while to one specific restaurant owned by a Hindu (now you may argue that Australian Cows are not "Gomatha.)

The idea that Australian cow is not gomatha is interesting. Holstein, Jersey and all foreign breeds cannot be certified as gomatha.

this is master plan by BJP to blame one community. if he had not fallen into well nobody would have got to know who had stolen the cow.

everybody would have thought cow stolen by certain community and this story would have published in media that cow mata was stolen from certain community.

it has created in mind of the public that one certain community only does this act (stealing cow). and this tactic is used by certain political party for their vote bank.

election is coming near be careful DK people.

Now, people like Alwyn, Karkera. Rita Germany should know ....who are the real cow thieves...
I have been telling since a long time that BD are the main suppliers of cattles in villages ..( from my experience )
Some times the sellers of cattles come under the pressure of local goondas and file a police complaint after selling the cattles .... It is like hoisting Paki flag near Hubli and placing Beef in Nagabana in Bhatkal ...
The Police before starting the enquiry for stolen cattles, should take the complaintant to the nearest temple and make him to take an oath that he has not sold the cattle to anyone ....
Then the truth will come out ....

As long as people take pleasure in eating cheap meat from stolen cows, people will be there to steal cows. Why don't people consider the meat from stolen cows as 'haraam'?

STOLEN COWS ARE HARAM TO EAT. it's common sense. But how consumers know whether it's stolen or bought? what about your opinion on GANESH POOJARI? Do think Poojari tried to steal cow to worship? this is the prove Cow protection itself is a huge illegal cow trading.

Now what do the Bhakths call this ? Why would he steal his own mother ? For slaughter ? Unless I am told that he had converted to the community that steals cows but retained his original name !

I have a feeling that there was not enough time to change his name to Abdul or Hameed before the news came to peoples knowledge because he was trapped in the well, could not escape and needed assistance to get out of the well !
