Mangaluru: Drugs found in students’ rave party, police unearth inter-state network

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Oct 28: In a shocking finding, revealed by the police investigation, Mangaluru city, which is in the forefront in Education sector in the whole country, has become the nest of ganja dealers and drug peddlers. What is more agonizing is the involvement of students of prestigious professional and degree colleges of the city.

This horrific fact came to light on Thursday, October 26, when the officer and personnel of anti-rowdy squad, Mangaluru South made a vital breakthrough into the inter-state network that used to sell banned drugs in the city. Though, prima facie this network seems to be inter-state, on deeper police interrogation, involvement of foreign hand is also found.

The persons arrested are Nikhil K B, resident of Kanhangad, Shravan Poojary, resident of Niddel, Kulshekar, Roshan Veigas, resident of Varampost, Kannur, Kerala and Basheem Basheer, resident of Punnayoorkulam, in Thrissur Out of these three are from Kerala and they have link in colleges through whom they are doing this business. A foreign suspect is supplying the drugs to these people. Police search is on to apprehend the foreign suspect.

This drug which keeps the students under intoxication all the time is being procured through online and other mobile apps. Students of professional colleges of the city are taking these drugs mixed in alcohol and cold drinks and also in tablet form during rave parties, annual day celebrations and birthday parties. Of late, the presence of ganja network in the city is widespread in the city and this incident just reinforces the cruel fact.

The accused who have been caught during the operation have confirmed the sale of LSD, ADMA and ADM tablets during interrogation. These tablets are not available in the medical stores in the city. The police department is investigating the source from where these tablets are procured.

It is believed that students make use of 'Sure Spot" app in order to get these drugs from the dealers. According to Rama Rao, assistant police commissioner, anti-rowdy squad Mangaluru South subdivision, in the drugs that were found on Wednesday, the cost of one gram of ADM is Rs 4,500, one gram of LSD is Rs 50,000 and one gram of ADMA is Rs 1,000.

Since as per above news article students used to get these drugs through "Sure Spot" app, police can completely unearth this network. Once you arrest few online buyers, make them open their mouth as to whom they used to supply, share, consume etc

Keep our millennials safe from drug menace.

Students please do not spoil your life & bring tears to self plus parents.

Police especially their cyber cell know everything once they get the link. Just exposing is not enough. There has to be willingness to follow up & bust the drug cartel.

But, who will bell the cat unless students/victims or their families pursue the case ?

Do you know only few high profile cases get solved due to some one following it up seriously. Else, it is just another day in the life of police investigations. They have too many things existing/new to handle.

Joke is when these students are looking for a flat/ house for accommodation they say that they do not have money to spend so much on accommodation . The agents support them
Saying that they have no money and parents do not give them so much money (pocket money). Surprising on weekends and holidays these students spend money in pubs, bars and etc., we find so many students. Mostly outsiders.
To spend on the above drugs I only have a doubt about the money they have to spend so much of money. Surprising............!!! Mangalore is getting spoilt because of our southern neighbours.

Wow, I really appreciate your hypocrisy.
When something great happens you identify the person by his country but when stuff like this happens you identify the person by his State.
If Mahathma Gandhi was alive today, he would have cried with shame.
This is the Real India. Filled with hypocrites.
    Where is your nationalism now?

Dylan mangalore,we shouldnt give the fault to others.depends on the persons who does it.when one decides against, noone can do anything.when one say the hell with you,I want to try, then their beer.Parents many times are not in India,in foreign countrys ,believe in them ,want to do best to them,so who stays in hostel stays want to have fun other ways, when no money cant buy drugs.Students ,I can only advice please dont take drugs, the effect of drugs ,you will come to know later in life.drugs made of synthetic ,will make your skin like a old man, look older than your age, ,teeth will be yellow or fall off, health no question of good health.Dont be a slave of drugs.say no to them.Girls also should be careful about drinks.many times without their knowledge ,ko drops are put,and later ,they cant remember ,not able to go themselves, and people have a chance to do with them what they want.K.O.drops dont smell dont taste, only effect.loose control over themselves.
