Bengaluru, Oct 31: Veteran leader of Janata Dal movement, P G R Sindhia, returned to active politics after a period of lull on Monday October 30. He joined JD(S) in the presence of state president of the party, H D Kumaraswamy, and national president, H D Deve Gowda.

Sindhia, who had earlier worked for Congress candidates in the recent bypoll although he generally remained neutral during the last some years, also had a brief stint with BSP before his expulsion from there. Sindhia, when in active politics, was known as an able leader and efficient minister. He said after joining JD(S) that he does not plan to enter the fray during the next assembly election, thus indirectly hinting that his eyes are now on Lok Sabha election. He said he will strive under Kumaraswamy's leadership to bring the party back to power in Karnataka.

JD(S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda, who welcomed Sindhia into the party, said that Sindhia will join him in undertaking state tour for the assembly election and then join hands with him in the national politics.

Kumaraswamy, speaking on the occasion, dismissed as rumour, the news making the rounds claiming that Sindhia will contest from Varuna constituency. He clarified that Sindhia will be involved with straightening the party's organizational strucutre.
