Saffron hue for Adityanath's office in UP capital

Lucknow, Oct 31 (PTI): The office of the saffron-robed UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the state capital is now getting a touch of saffron.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri Bhawan, known as the secretariat annexe building which houses the chief minister's office as well as those of senior officials, is being painted in saffron colour replacing the traditional white and blue.

Estate department officials said everything from the outer walls to the terrace of the building is being painted in the saffron shade.

The building which also has the office of the chief secretary has traditionally sported white and blue colours but a proposal was recently made for repairing and painting the building and saffron colour was approved by all, they said adding that work on it has already started.

The chief minister, referred to as Maharajji by his disciples, is clad in saffron coloured outfits and according to sources after he took over, the towels which cover his chair and curtains of his office were also changed to colours matching the saffron hue.

The towels in the office of the chief minister on the fifth floor of the building are of a saffron hue and the curtains, though not saffron in colour are close to it, the sources said.

Recently, the chief minister had flagged off a fleet of 50 saffron-coloured buses and even the stage for the inauguration was decorated with saffron-coloured curtains and balloons.

Besides this, the education department had distributed saffron-coloured school bags to primary schools students and the booklets that were distributed to mark 100 days and six months of the Adityanath government were saffron in colour as well.

The information department diary of the state government also bears a saffron cover.

The Opposition, however, does not seem to happy with the change and has charged the state government with "saffronising" even official buildings.

This is all about "saffronisation" of the state and its politics, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said.

Congress spokesman Dwijendra Tripathi said giving any particular colour, which is associated with a political party, is not right.

There is some logic in the Yogi CM's fascination for saffron. As human beings we are all programmed to believe white is pure, clean, without blemish and dark or other colours are dirty, unclean, full of blemishes, etc. It is on that basis Indians had in the past "adored" their masters and put down those of dark shades - and this has happened even within families, a slightly fairer child becomes the darling of the parents while neglecting the darker shaded ones - and the siblings react the same way, even their talk with others betrays their thinking.
At least the CM has not gone so far as to "saffronize" society, unlike the Portuguese in the 16th and 17th centuries who required converts to embrace the whiteman's culture and created a wedge between them and the rest of the Goan society.
    It is time that

What UP CM Yogi don't know about white an inherently positive color, is associated with purity, virginity, innocence, light, goodness, heaven, safety, brilliance, illumination, understanding, cleanliness, faith, beginnings, sterility, spirituality, possibility, humility, sincerity, protection, softness, and perfection.
Please produce ONE ONLY ONE instance when your Godfather RSS displayed the National Flag during the freedom struggle. You may not know that Tricolour was declared to be a National Flag in December 1929 but RSS and its ally Hindu Mahasabha never accepted as National Flag. How do you respond to it?
With so much immense love for 'saffron colour' Yogi should go to dentist and give up his white teeth and replace it with saffron artificial set. His state government should try specially breed 'Go Mata' with saffron skin. The national animal of India Tigen skin stripe should also be painted in saffron.
In December 1929 Congress under Gandhiji's leadership at its Lahore session adopted Tricolour as National Flag and called upon all patriotic Indians to unfurl it on each August 30th. But both the RSS under the leadership of Dr. Hedgewar and Hindu Mahasabha under the leadership of Savarkar refused to accept it as National Flag and continued hoisting bhagwa flag. According to them it was for Hindus only and only a Hindu flag or bhagwa dhawaj could be unfurled. Is this description wrong?
The RSS English mouthpiece ORGANIZER demeaning the choice of the National Flag just on the eve of Independence (14 August 1947) wrote: "The people who have come to power by the kick of fate may give in our hands the Tricolour but it never be respected and owned by Hindus. The word three is in itself an evil, and a flag having three colours will certainly produce a very bad psychological effect and is injurious to a country." Please tell us when did you change your opinion?
CM Yogi saffron love is nothing but extension of Sangh Parivar Guruji's 'bunch of thoughts'.

Don't worry! Will be on track after 2019. Elevation of Modi was necessary for the comparison, otherwise people used to say MMS is incompetent. Now we all know the capacity of people who used to criticize on each and every aspect.

This man is not bothered about the pathetic health conditions in his state and other pressing needs.. He is more interested in painting his building. Are we marching ahead or are we tracking backwards? Stinking and most disgusting state of affairs. I won't be surprised if he next constructs a cow shed in front of his building.
