Bengaluru, Oct 31: A man employed in a private company has been arrested for pestering a Kerala-based movie actor to fall in love with him. The incident happened within the limits of Madiwala police station here. Reportedly, the man got to know the girl at a church.

The actor in question used to frequent a church to offer prayers. The youth instantly got attracted towards her and began to insist with her to marry him. When she spurned his advances, he sent her obscene messages. Franklin Whisil (28), resident of Electronics City here, stands arrested on these charges.

The lady, identified as Reba Monica John, had called her tormentor five months back and given him some sane advice. Still, there was no improvement in his behaviour. Therefore, she filed police complaint, it is learnt.

Monica has acted in several films and also carved out a niche for herself in reality shows. Since the last ten years, she has been staying with her parents at Koramangala second stage, and completed M Sc degree through a college here.

Franklin also hails from Kerala, and he is here since the last 12 years. He works in a private company at Basavanagudi. He used to visit St Antony Church on Hosur Road every Sunday for offering prayers. As Reba Monica, who visited this church, also is from Kerala, both came to know each other. Thereafter, Franklin began to pressurize her to marry him.

Monica's family is rich. Franklin, whose infatuation was becoming stronger, initially used to send her SMSes saying that he loves her and if ever he marries someone,she would be the one. Whenever he found her in church, he used to follow her till her home. Monica had told him in clear words during May this year that she does not love him and that she cannot marry him. But the accused failed to relent. Instead, his messages started to turn ugly and obscene. Therefore, she filed police complaint.

Policemen said that the arrested accused was produced in court.
