RIP..heartfelt condolences...its not always the fault of a driver...i have observed many a times people negligently cross road and expect the vehicles to stop or slow down till they cros..but this is done by youngsters..especially in thokottu derlakatte they purposely cross when a vehicle is moving and that too they walk slowly seeing here n there...and even the ones in two wheeler if they find a girl driving they purposely drive in the center of the road not letting over take..

We never know what exactly happened unless there is CCTV footage.
We cannot blame the driver blindly.
My friend a bus driver of 53A(kankanady to soorinje) committed suicide in July 1993 as his bus had met with an accident which killed 2 people. Though report said it was not his fault as he was gem of a person my 23yr old friend sacrificed himself due to pain he went through.
So before people pass judgement. Think!

RIP Lilly Pinto, the private bus mafia should be abolished. The driver must have been drunk and driving mad. The bus drivers think they are road king once behind the wheel. Do the police check on these drivers breathalyzer done on them. The private buses stop anywhere and have no value for human life.

Very sad .heartfelt sympathys to the family. We know drivers are rude and drive fast, but at the same time even people too cross roads without looking /caring rushing vehicles on the other side. That doesnt mean I support this driver. But sometimes reality is different.Best is police should control vehicles .Drivers should be punished and licence should be cancelled who go against rules.

Most of the private bus drivers are psychos, not caring for the life of pedestrians. They should be put behind bars permanently.

    Sad demise.

When will someone who can take some right action against these f@£&@#@ bus drivers? A vast majority of these drivers are rude and rash.

How many more lives do we have to sacrifice before authorities take actions to prevent such accidents in the future.

    Please.

Mr. Basil Dsouza, Bajodi, Bikarnakatta: RIP Sister. Mr. Basil, even the huge humps are put, City buses will fly over them without any hindrance, besides it is a National Highway and not village road and as per rules, no road humps or signals can be laid on the National Highways but the traffic has to be controlled.

I am not defending bus drivers but they are Rogues on the roads. At the same time, both the motorists and road users also requires to be careful with little extra patience, while driving/crossing. I have observed many a times specially evening time, road users do not look for the vehicles on either side of the road but simply rush to the other side to catch the bus. Little patience saves lives. Jai Hind

we will be grateful to the administration if u bring traffic rule in reality and solutions for these three things
    * Private and city buses they think that they are flying in the air.
    * Auto rickshaw drivers think that they are only one who are riding and take a turn anywhere.
    * Digging the roads every day and create havoc.
DO WE HAVE SOLUTIONS FOR THIS IN MANGALURU

Its a known fact, the private & govt buses are above law, the speed governor is only on paper. Not a single bus is fitted with speed governor. The RTO, police and all dept are hand in gloves with the greedy owners, who just don't care what happens to co-users of roads.
    This will never end.

Only option to prevent loss of life & accidents due to these uneducated, uncivilized ,unruly working staff of these private buses is to go for Government buses.
This will surely solve the problem.
Private buses have the steps at much height, it's very difficult for women especially aged to get in & alight from the bus.
Owner should be punished & he has to pay the compensation for the loss of life.

Bikarnakatta junction road connecting to Shaktinagar road is very danger zone for pedestrians for crossing as buses and other vehicles moving from Nathoor as well as kulshekar kalpane appears suddenly due to high speed as there is not any single speedbraker out there.

That spot is a very dangerous one? Police personnel too are said to be not available. Bus drivers are rash and time is their only concern, human life has no value to them. it is time authorities consider a suitable subway for road crossing......and not just here, in many places in the city. Thanks. ijss.
