Mangaluru Nov 3: “Congress will observe nationwide black day on November 8,” informed district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.
Addressing media here on Friday November 3, Ramanath Rai said," It has been a year since the demonetisation of currency notes was introduced on November 8 last year. Congress representatives will hold a rally from Sullia to Madikeri, followed by a public meeting on that day. November 8 will be marked as black day across the nation. Economy of the nation has gone worse after the demonetisation was effected. People are agitated over the increase in unemployment, rise in gas and petrol prices and implementation of GST,”
“BJP is organising ‘Parivarthana’ rally. Amit Shah found empty chairs during the rally. This shows that people are with the state government and there is no need of any change. People are aware that central government has not fulfilled any of its promises and such rally is not required for the state,” he added.
"State government led by Siddaramaiah has stood by its words by fulfilling the promises mentioned in the manifesto. Other than the promises in the manifesto, state government has introduced Indira Canteens and loan waivers for the farmers,” he informed.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to visit Mangaluru
"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be visiting Mangaluru on November 4 and will be arriving at Mangaluru airport at 10am and will take part in the inauguration of National Level Open Karate Championship at Nehru Maidan and will be departing to Bengaluru after that,” Rai said.
“AICC Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal, S R Patil, KPCC president Parameshwar, minister for energy D K Shivakumar will take part in the 'Mane Manege Congress' campaign on November 6 at Kavoor Junction and Akashbhavan block. Later they will address the Congress office-bearers at district Congress office,” he concluded.
Mayor Kavitha Sanil, MCC chief whip Shashidhar Hegde, Former mayor Harinath and others were present.
