German national beaten up by railway supervisor in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Nov 5 (PTI): A German national was allegedly beaten up by a railway supervisor at the Robertsganj railway station in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

The incident comes days after a Swiss couple were attacked near the railway station at Agra's Fatehpur Sikri.

Holger Ereek was allegedly beaten up by railway supervisor Aman Kumar on Saturday after which the station master informed the police.

Circle officer Vivekanand Tiwari said Aman Kumar has been arrested.

However, the railway employee alleged that when he greeted Ereek by saying "welcome to India", he hit him.

The victim refused to talk to the media.

"According to reports, the railway supervisor enquired the German national about his well being, which angered him. The German hit the railway employee, who might have pushed him in retaliation. Based on the complaints of the two, non-cognisable reports have been registered. Their medical examination has been conducted," ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar told reporters in Lucknow.

The truth will never come out in Yogi Adityanath's UP. The most probable scenario is the German tourist got angry when he was shaken down for a bribe. Foreign tourists are extorted in Goa of all places which has a reputation for being one of the most tourist friendly states in India.

Main reason is, UP is not part of India.

One can easily find cheap touristic destinations around the world with better facilities and safety as well.

Travelling in India is more of an adventure in itself, than enjoying what the country has to offer for locals and foreigners.

Tourism must be seen as an important contributor to our economy.

    Jai Hind!!!

According to a report released by the World Travel and Tourism Council earlier this year, India’s is the world’s seventh largest tourism economy in terms of GDP. The travel and tourism sector generated Rs 14.1 trillion (USD 208.9 billion) in 2016, which is the world’s seventh largest in terms of absolute size; the sum is equivalent to 9.6% of India’s GDP.
Additionally, the sector created 40.3 million jobs in 2016, which places India second in the world in terms of total employment generated by tourism. The sector accounts for 9.3% of the country’s total jobs.
the Taj Mahal in Agra has seen a fall in the number of visitors. While 7.9 lakh foreign tourists went to see the Taj Mahal in 2012, just 6.36 lakh foreigners visited the monument in 2015. A Times of India report claimed that rising crime against foreign tourists was one main reason for the dip in their numbers.
In 2015, 365 crimes against foreigners in India were registered, of which 147 (40%) were in Delhi, followed by Maharashtra (53) and Uttar Pradesh (33), according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data. Of these 365 crimes, 271 were against tourists and the rest against foreigners resident in India.
“I have immense confidence that this new team will leave no stone unturned in making UP Uttam Pradesh, the foremost state. There will be record development,” Mr Modi said. In reality the state is getting famous as 'Lynching Pradesh'.
This is what happens when a communal agenda is passed off as ‘Good Governance’.

Actually, we are told, it is better to visit foreign countries with tour operators, who have a guides in different countries.
My wife when she purchased Sawroski ornament at Cologne, Germany asked the sales woman whether the ornament has to be taken out during bath. That woman said "no, no, we never take bath". My wife said, "I am not interested whether you take bath or not". Then other woman said, "she means, we take Euro and not Baht"

"According to reports, the railway supervisor enquired the German national about his well being, which angered him". I doubt bhaiyya did not ask for his well being. Why should he ask his well being ? Is German his 'sasura ?'. I am sure he was trying to get some bakshish from German which angered him. How U.P. can be a part of India which ruins the image of our country ? Oh forgot, yathaa raaja, thatha praja. Gau matha ki jai. Cow government ki jai.

Government officials can beat public if it happens in BJP ruled states. If it had happened in non BJP states then your statement would have been different.
