Named in Paradise Papers list, BJP MP RK Sinha goes on 'Maun vrat' for a week

New Delhi, Nov 6 (The Indian Express): BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ravindra Kishore Sinha, whose name has cropped up in the Paradise Papers leak in connection with his firm’s offshore links, on Monday chose to remain silent on the matter while informing that he is on ‘maun vrat’ (silence of vow) for a week.

When asked for his reaction over the issue, Sinha refused to comment over the issue but scribbled on a paper that he has taken a pledge to not speak for a week till ‘Bhagwat Yagna’, showed the ANI video.

Considered as one of the richest in Rajya Sabha, BJP MP from Bihar founded the private security service firm SIS (Security and Intelligence Services) and heads a group which has two offshore entities, disclosed the investigation carried out by the Indian Express of offshore finances with International Consortium of Investigation Journalists and Süddeutsche Zeitung, Munich.

As per records of the Malta registry, SIS Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd (SAPHL), registered in Malta in 2008, is a subsidiary of SIS. Sinha is listed as a minority shareholder while wife Rita Kishore Sinha is a director of SAPHL.

According to the records, SIS International Holdings Limited (SIHL), a company incorporated in British Virgin Islands, holds 3,999,999 shares in SAPHL while 1 share is with Ravindra Kishore Sinha.

One of the best way to escape media. He is a chaalu guy. He takes time to set the things then he will speak after one week. He should be put inside the jail before he opens his mouth which is we only think in dream. In India Politicians never does the wrong doings. I remember Amithab Bacchan's old film where he shoots all the Politicians. You can repair a old building but the building behond repairs should be demolished

The Paradise Papers is the fourth collaborative investigation into offshore and banking assets done by The Indian Express with the ICIJ. Among the 180 countries represented in the data, India ranks 19th in terms of the number of names. In all, there are 714 Indians in the tally. Interestingly, it’s an Indian company, Sun Group, founded by Nand Lal Khemka, that figures as Appleby’s second-largest client internationally, with as many as 118 different offshore entities.
Two days before the Government observes “Anti-Black Money Day” to mark the first anniversary of demonetisation, comes the largest ever leak of financial data.
This cache of 13.4 million documents named “Paradise Papers” tumbled out 18 months after Panama Papers: both sets of data were obtained by German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and were investigated by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) working in partnership with 96 news organisations.
What do the Paradise Papers show?
They reveal offshore footprints of some of India’s major corporate players as well as of a few high-value individuals the astounding scale of incorporating shell overseas companies to various ends. Internal communications show how a majority of these companies with offshore residency were wholly controlled from India.
The obvious malpractices, as evidenced by the Paradise Papers, are tax fraud, money laundering, round tripping, parking black money, bribing, etc. Also, treaty shopping, by which a resident of a third country can take advantage of the provisions of DTAA.
PM Modi government says it has targeted shell companies. But in reality most of his own ministers and capitalist are the only beneficiaries of offshore firm.
Narendra Modi speaks of eradicating corruption during his ‘Mann ki Baat’ programmes but has remained silent on the Panama Paper leaks. But his MP Sinha goes on 'Maun Vrat'.
Anna Hazare took 'Maun Vrat' for anti corruption and MP Sinha does the same to hide his illegal wealth.

Wrong doers should be punished ..Including this MP if found guilty.. It has to be noted that he is not directly related to the PM like Vadra is related to Sonia.
Its interesting to note that names such as Ashok Gehlot ,Sachin Pilot and Karthi subramaniam has cropped in the Paradise papers leak.

Reality of BJP. Hope people understand his fakeness. There should not be mercy for corruption by anyone. What is happening is Modi is silent on Vadra and big fish Congress and he is welcoming corrupt from other parties to BJP for vote bank. BJP name should be changed as "Bhrashta Janara Party" and "Joota Janara Paksha". Parivarthana Rally was complete flop and they got curse from people for blocking roads and blocking ambulences. Karnataka people cannot forgive these Bhrashtaas.
