Gunmen storm Kabul TV station


Kabul, Nov 7 (IANS): Gunmen stormed into a local television station in Kabul on Tuesday with reports that people have been killed and injured.

Witnesses say the attackers threw grenades and fired guns as they entered the Shamshad TV headquarters.

Hashmat Istankzai, a reporter for Shamshad TV, who managed to escape told that the BBC the attackers were still inside the building with gunfire being heard.

"Some of my colleagues were killed and injured. I managed to escape."

More than 100 employees are thought to be inside the building.
