Dubai: Reena Lorena’s music album ‘Mogar Tujea’ released

Media Release

Dubai, Nov 28: In a very pleasant evening for the music lovers of UAE, talented singer Reena Lorena released her maiden musical album ‘Mogar Tujea’ in the presence of an esteemed gathering at Winny’s Restaurant, Karama on November 24.

The programme began with melodious songs sung by singers from Dubai led by veteran Lancy Madtha, Preema Rodrigues, Melwyn A D’Souza, Sabitha Mathias and Vincent Rodrigues. It was worth noting that being a singer herself; Reena Lorena gave an opportunity to other singers to render their golden voices in her programme.

The stage programme started after an initial musical session. Joseph Mathias, Mark Denis D’Souza, and Dayan D’Souza Mukamar were the chief guests on the grand occasion.

Welcoming the gathering, Reena Lorena thanked all the people who had made this day possible in her life. She made a mention of those behind the project who helped her complete it without facing any hassles.

Joseph Mathias in his speech stressed all the parents to teach Konkani to their children and spread the language to the younger generation. He also explained the sorry state of Konkani language. He further told that if this will continue for some more years, it will be very difficult to revive the language. He congratulated Reena for her venture and requested everybody to support her.

Mark Denis D’Souza congratulated Reena on her efforts to bring out a Konkani music CD with her own lyrics, tunes and vocals. He also told Reena not to stop her musical journey with one album but to bring out more and more music albums.

Dayan D’Souza Mukamar in his speech informed that as long as Konkani loving people will exist, the language will survive. He congratulated Reena for her venture. “Being a housewife and besides her household activities and looking after her child, she took this project as a challenge and has succeeded in it. We all should take a lead from Reena’s life to achieve success,” he said.

Reena honoured all those who helped her in the music album and her musical journey. Reena specially mentioned music composers Thushara Karuvithage and Sam Thomas and honoured them. On behalf of Thushara, his wife Monica accepted the honour.

Reena rendered a couple of songs after the formal programme. The programme was compered by well-known compere Roshan D’Silva.

Lip-smacking dinner was served by Winny’s restaurant.

‘Mogar Tujea’ is presented by Pisces Creations Mangaluru and has eight beautiful and memorable songs namely, Pavsa Thembe, Nachonk Tujea Gopanth, Junacho Pavs, Ugdas Tuzo Dosta, Nide Bala, Kalza Udi, Axelim Mogak and Tujinch Hanv. All songs are sung by Reena herself which is a rare achievement in Mangalurean Konkani music industry.
