Mangaluru: Freedom fighter Doreswamy declines Alva's Nudisiri Award

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Nov 29: Veteran freedom fighter H S Doreswamy has declined to accept ‘Nudisiri’ award of this year.

Doreswamy has cited ideological differences with organiser of ‘Nudisiri’ Dr M Mohan Alva from Moodbidri, for declining the prestigious award.

Doreswamy has also decided not to participate in the annual event held this year from December 1 to 3.

As per Doreswamy, Dr Mohan Alva was heading one of the committees connected to Dharma Sansad convention held in Udupi recently. Hence he is having ideological differences with Dr Alva.

At the same time Doreswamy has lauded Dr Alva for his achievements in education, arts and literature. “I respect Dr Alva for his encouragement and patronage of education, arts and literature,” he said.

    Doreswamy is a looser to congress who thinks that the present congress is the freedom fighter congress. he s old link of the so called intellectuals with negative feelings about hinduism. I doubt is he realy fought for freedom or did some drama to get the fame. If he realy loved the nation then why he is still Congii ?. atleast love the motherland and not to hate hinduism

    Why in recent years we find almost all intellectuals and freedom fighters behaving like this?Does that mean all of them are wrong and others are the only people who are right?? Can't be...Just go through Mr Thogadia's speech or for that matter any mahotsav or similar convention speech and read how many comments and what type of comments are made about other religions along with the usual discussions about Hindu religion and what is the call given by those speakers to the listeners...If a child who is listening to his speech which is telling that jobs are to given looking at religion and when someone converts to other religions, consider that an enemy is born....Is this what we need in present day India? If you notice all these you will know why these people who fought with British are sad today about how religion is used to incite hatred among the people and communities on the pretext of protection.....If we all are here thirsting for other's blood then why we should call other religion as violent...after all we are walking in the same steps now..

    Conclusion from your comments: some xyz religion was already violent and another religion is now getting violent. At least you acknowledged that one religion's current stance is a response to others violence.

    Hinduism is a sacred religion which proposes "Vasudeva kutumbakam" which means 'all world is one family". No one will oppose Hinduism. People do oppose "Hindutva" - which divides people and does not believe in 'vasudeva kutumbakam"

    @Abhishek
    That mean, if anyone talk against FEKU, he/she is Anti-national? #Bhakthlogic

    Supporting Hinduism is 'not Communal' man... during this course, spreading hatred about other religion/faith is 'communal'.

    I guess, you born after BJP party born... before that all religions were respecting each other & living peaceful life...!

    Dharma Samsad was not a terrorist meeting, it was a discussion and review of Hindu religious aspects and not to harm any other religion. Some people want themselves to be identified as progressive thinkers just by opposing hindu cultural and religious oriented people. I have noticed one thing that these progressives and seculars never did anything good to the downtrodden and they are not into any charity related activity. Yet they are called rationalists just by their lip services.

    Salute to Mr. Doreswamy for making a stand on value. Mr Alva is a known RSS supporter and everyone is aware of the threat to the secular fabric of India by forces of extremism. It takes immense courage to stand up against the flow. Indeed Doreswamy is a true freedom fighter.
