Shivamogga, Dec 20: The marriage between Anusha Hegde, daughter of a well-known music teacher from the city, and Javed Khan from Mysuru, appeared sometime back to be headed for the rocks. The girl's father has been claiming this marriage to be a part of Love Jihad. He has complained that Javed, who had married twice earlier, had hidden this fact from his daughter when marrying her, and that he had transformed Anusha into a drug addict and kept her in confinement at his home.
Anusha, who was pursuing engineering degree course in Vidyavardhaka Engineering College at Mysuru had fallen in love with Javed Khan, who is a real estate agent, and both of them went ahead and married although parents of Anusha were dead against this alliance. Anusha soon converted into Islam and changed her name intu Kuteja. Her parents however, kept this marriage as a closely guarded secret from friends and relatives.
Anusha suddenly appeared at the doorsteps of her parents home recently and accused her husband of various things, it is said. Within a week however, she disappeared from home and joined her husband. A kidnap complaint was delivered to Jayanagar police here by the parents, but the police recorded missing complaint. Anusha had repeated her charges against her husband in the presence of police on December 5. She also told the advocates at Shivamogga that her husband inflicts lot of violence on her and that she was confined within the four walls of his house.
Anusha, in a volte face, has now been charging her parents of terminating her pregnancy without her knowledge. She says now that she became a Muslim on her own accord. "My husband has not given any trouble to me. I chased him and pestered him to marry me after threatening to commit suicide. This is love marriage, not Love Jihad," she says.
It has transpired that Javed had married twice in the past. His first wife has a daughter and second wife has a son. Anusha says that the child of his second wife is being looked after by her.
In the meantime, the first wife, who has charged various things against Javed, says that like her, Anusha too is under house arrest and that she too will be driven away from home in a few days.
