Mangaluru, Dec 23: This is the fate of poor people in India. A woman delivered a baby at Kankanady Railway Station on the night of Friday, December 23 without any help from medical staff.

The woman had reached the railway station with her husband. When the woman started experiencing labour pain, her husband called for ‘108’ ambulance which did not arrive on time. The pathetic condition of the railway station road could have been the reason for the delay.

When the ambulance reached the station, the woman had already delivered the baby. The ambulance did not have any woman staff. Manjunatha and Mallayya, the medical staff in the ambulance, helped the woman and child with immediate necessary medical help.

The woman and the child were taken to Lady Goshen Hospital for further medical care later.
