Mangaluru, Jan 9: Sartoji, uncle of Deepak Rao, said that the family has no knowledge on what basis politicians are making allegations relating to Deepak's murder.

He clarified that the family has neither filed any complaint nor accused any particular person. He sought the family to be left alone to live in peace and wanted the culprits to be punished, and that the probe into the case should be conducted by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Meanwhile, hundreds of citizens and BJP activists came together at Krishnapura to protest against former chief minister of Karnataka, Kumaraswamy, for indirectly accusing city corporator, Tilak Raj Krishnapura, of having a hand in the murder of BJP worker, Deepak Rao, on Monday January 8.

On this occasion, effigies of Kumaraswamy, and local MLA Moideen Bava, who is said to have been behind the view expressed by Kumaraswamy, were burnt on.

Speaking on the occasion, Sadashiva Aithal said that Kumaraswamy does not know anything about Tilak Raj and Deepak Rao. "He has issued this statement at the instigation of the brother of MLA, Moideen Bava. No one who knows Tilak Raj, who is loved by the local people, would issue such a statement. We in unison condemn this baseless allegation," he stated.

Tilak Raj, who too spoke on the occasion, noted that Kumaraswamy reposes faith on religious vows and oaths and affirmations undertaken in the name of deities. He volunteered to present himself in any of the temples of the choice of Kumaraswamy to take a vow. "We are going through agony at the death of our own party activist. As such, I am now left with no energy to digest such charges. The MLA should stop stooping too low for political mileage," he advised.
