Mangaluru, Jan 10: It is reliably learnt that Madan, police sub-inspector (SI) of Bajpe police station in the city, has decided to try his hand in politics.

He tendered his resignation to the department a few days ago. He is under pressure from higher authorities in the department to reconsider his decision, it is gathered. But Madan,it is said, has remained firm on his decision to leave his job.

Madan,who hails from Made village in Kodagu district, had begun to serve police department from Kadri police station here. He had later worked as police sub-inspector in Bunder station before being posted to Bajpe.

Even when working for police department, Madan has been quite active with Swachhata Abhiyan launched by Ramakrishna Mission. Reportedly he has decided to try his hand at becoming a noble people's representative to satiate his inner desire to serve the society in a fitting way.

As per some sources, Madan is likely to join BJP soon.
