Beltangady, Jul 27: Sudha, the lady who died in the bomb explosion in Bangalore on 25th July, was reportedly residing in Gandibagilu near Laila for a brief period. She settled in Bangalore 2 years ago.

Basically, she was the resident of Arasikere, in Hassan district. She came here with her husband Ravi and stayed in a rented house belonging to a certain Rukmini Muttuswami, for 3 years. Sudha was running a petty shop near Laila bus stand, while Ravi was engaged in coolie work. She also carried out tender coconut business for some time, say locals.

Sudha even executed beedi tying as a means of livelihood in Laila. She actively participated in the self-help group promoted by Guruvayanakere Nagarika Seva Trust. Her younger brothers were regularly visiting here to meet her, her neighbours recall.

She applied for a loan of Rs 10 thousand from the self-group for her house repair. The self-help group members granted her the loan, because there was enough money in the fund. But she left Laila immediately after receiving the loan amount. Now other members are repaying it. When they saw her pictures being flashed in the TV channels, they recognized her. Expressing their concern on why she left Laila, they added that she was a nice lady at heart.
