Bengaluru: Disgraceful to have doubts about Constitution, says CM in R-Day message

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 26: In his Republic Day message to the people of Karnataka on the occasion of 69th Republic Day celebration, which was aired by Akashvani-Doordarshan, chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah said that participation in parliamentary democracy by people having doubts about their Constitution is tantamount to disgracing the Constitution.

Starting his address with Republic Day greetings, the CM pointed out that January 26 happens to be the day on which a vow was taken to build the nation on the basis of freedom, equality, brotherhood and secular values. "Our government is always committed to these basic motives," he asserted.

Siddaramaiah said that India got freedom not as a gift from the British parliament but because it expressed itself to be so. He recollected that Mahatma Gandhi had predicted before independence that Indians would get what they want out of sacrifice of blood of its people. He described that the treasure of freedom got embodied in the lives of people of the country through the Constitution created by Dr B R Ambedkar.

"National movement ignited the fire of patriotism and awareness about our country in us. Mahatma Gandhi and Indian National Congress under his leadership took up the responsibility of realizing this dream. On account of our Constitution and democracy based on it, democratic values have got entrenched deeply on account of this national movement," he stated.

Siddaramaiah said that ensuring social, and political justice and freedom to all citizens through cogitation, expression, thought and prayers, and kindling a sense of brotherhood among all the citizens are the basic intent of the Constitution. "The advice of Dr V R Ambedkar that political power is the master key that can open up doors of development, also happens to be the stand I believe in my political life," he said. The CM felt that it is the duty of everyone to remember Dr B R Ambedkar who gifted a model Constitution to us, and to condemn the recent demand for ammending it.

"Those who participate in democratic system need to inculcate respect and faith in the intent of the Constitution, and commitment to its principles. Forces other than those which have faith in Constitution have no place in democratic set up," he stated. He recalled that at the time of adopting Constitution on January 26, 1950, Dr Ambedkar had warned that inequality will continue in social and financial forms and that if it continues to happen, exploited classes affected by inequality might demolish the structure of democracy. Towards achieving equality through democracy, he called for destroying differences on the basis of caste, and the divide between upper and lower classes of the society.

Siddaramaiah asserted that it would not be possible to build the nation through religious nationalism as it is harmful for the democracy that advocates multi-religious, multi-linguistic and multi-cultural existence. "Politics, religion, and caste cannot develop our country. Scientific progress, development of technology and rational thinking can take us forward," he opined.

What hypocrites congress leaders are !!!! The only one who suspended and disgraced constitution is Congress. And they are talking about BJP who swear by the constitution.

BTW, Congress is supporting PFI for the votes. If anyone can cause danger to the constitution, it is PFI and it cohorts who look to implementing Sharia. That is the biggest danger India faces and Congress is fully in bed with them. What a disgrace!!

The Christians writing in the comments section do not realize they are 100 % safe under BJP/RSS rule vs being ruled in a Sharia law country. DO NOT think it is too far away, the way Congress is bent upon appeasement and the rate of population growth of the Muslim community. 1 generation can change the equations. God only help India and the liberals who think they are safer under Islamic appeaser congress.

The whole narrative is shifting to non-existent threat to constitution, is because all the other false narratives against BJP, Modi and RSS is failing. They are not the monsters they were portrayed as and so a new narrative is required. "Liberals" keeping falling on their face and getting nose bloodied.

No man can serve two masters: for either he. will hate the one, and love the other; or else. he will hold to the one, and despise the other. One cannot serve the Indian Republic and Gowalkar/RSS.

How sincere are BJP politicians when they swear allegiance to the Republic? How sincere are BJP politicians when they take the oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution? Indians must they about whether the people they elect can be trusted to defend the Indian Republic against its internal enemies.

CM says - Politics, religion, and caste cannot develop our country. Scientific progress, development of technology and rational thinking can take us forward, - Good that he now realised the fact divide and rule using Caste/Religion will not work..... Till today he is insisting on Caste based votes and tried to break Lingayat and Shaivas from main streeem of Hinduism... So that he could give some reservation and play with caste votes. ... Now people are well versed with this tactics of politicians and in near future they will ignore them permanently for ever....

People who know Constitution should not be afraid of people who talk about amendments.

The Constitution itself provides how it can be amended with procedures. No one can violate those provisions. Amendments are categorized and have separate requirements and rules. Our Constitution has sufficient protection built within.

The talks going on now about Constitution are mere misleading and done with a political intention.

Constitution was amended 128 times since it was enacted in 1950. And most of the times it was amended by Congress Govt only. Amendment is not because of doubt about constitution but it i s a progressive thinking.

Ok. Let me give few examples on which govt is really dangerous. Salman Rushdie's book was banned during Congress rule (Judiciary was over ruled). Shah Bano's small maintenance was denied by Congress (discrimination against minorities and women), Only time constitution was suspended was during Emergency during Congress rule, The 1984 anti-sikh riots was led and caused by Congress goons (minorities are not safe at all under congress).

Movies, art which do not meet mullahs approvals are instantly banned by Congress, commie rulers. No freedom of expression does not ever matter at that time.

No one called people anti-national, except for those who want Bharat Ke Tudke Tudke honge gang. There are leftists who support killing of 80 CRPF jawans and our army jawans who get killed on the border. Are they patriotic Indians and need to be awarded for patriotism ? NO country will praise such traitors.
5 times as many RSS/BJP people have been killed as the number of ppl hurt by Gau Rakshaks. Are they not Indians and do not deserve any sympathy ?

So same things done by Congress is praised while similar things under BJP are called dangerous ? You ppl are total hypocrites and every one can see that.

Well, let's start from the changes made to constitution during emergency period. The 42nd amendment made changes to pretty much all areas. And it was made during emergency. Now we have people lecturing on disgrace. Hypocrisy.
