Puttur, Jan 29: Chairperson of Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Kripa Alva, said that relating to the mysterious death of student Zaibunnisa in Mandya district, officials of the education department, teachers of the residential school and the staff would be summoned before the commission and a detailed inquiry would be conducted within a week.

Kripa Alva was on a visit to the house of Zaibunnisa's grandparents family at Ninnikal near Uppinangady in the taluk on Sunday January 28, to empathise with the student's grandparents. Zaibunnisa, student of minorities model residential school at K R Pete in Mandya district, had died under suspicious circumstances.

"I have already spoken to Zaibunnia's sister, Fatimat Nihala and Muhammed Nihal, who are studying at the said residential school, as well as her parents, Muhammed Ibrahim and Zubaida, about the incident and also about the irregularities at the residential school. From what they said, I can assume that lot of wrongdoings are happening there. We will conduct detailed inquiry. We will get report from police station too. Relating to suicide at Moodbidri, we have penalized the institution," she informed.

Kripa said she would hold discussions with education minister, Tanveer Sait, and urge him to conduct investigation through his department too. "My aim is to put in honest efforts towards providing justice to the aggrieved family ," she added.

Member of managing committee of Uppinangady Lord Sahasralingeshwara temple, Dr Rajaram, G Krishna Rao Arthila, local assembly youth Congress u nit president, U T Tauseef, and Mahendra Varma were present.
