Mangaluru, Jan 29: The passing-out parade of the 14th batch of civil police constables took place at the District Armed Reserve Police grounds here on Monday, January 29.
As many as 95 graduate and double-graduate civil police constables who took eight months of training from temporary training school in the city took part in the passing-out parade. They would be deployed in Bengaluru.
Out of 95 civil police constables, 38 are BA graduates, 11 are BA BEd, 4 BSc, 4 MA BEd, 3 MSW, 13 BCom, 12 SSLC, 1 MCom, 1 Bsc DEd and 1 Msc. Eighty-one are bachelors and 14 are married.
Addressing the gathering, ADGP training Charan Reddy said, "Civil police constables have completed eight months of hard training and will now be deployed in Bengaluru. With indoor and outdoor training, you have learnt many things. District police have involved you in their daily routine work as part of your training. Deployed in Bengaluru, the responsibility and challenge is high. In Bengaluru you will have a more important role to play compared to other districts. People, elected representatives and others deeply observe the functioning of police in Bengaluru.
“Expectations will be high and you need to show your performance through your work and take your educational qualification as an asset. Bengaluru is the place where you have a lot of scope. The police department is the one where you get challenging tasks and opportunities. At present, you are physically fit and mentally alert. You will have to maintain yourself that way for long time with enthusiasm and commitment,” he said.
Prize distribution
Indoor training: The first place was bagged by Veeresh, second place by Harish, and the third by Sharana Basappa.
Outdoor training: The first place was won by Suresh, second place by Mahantesh, and third by Chennappa.
Shooting: The first place went to Mookanna, second place by Shivamurthy, and third by Manjunath.
All-rounder award was presented to Veeresh Hirapur.
ASP V J Sajeeth read out the report, Harishchandra B compered the programme and newly appointed superintendant of police Ravikanthe Gowda welcomed the gathering, Puttur DySP Srinivas rendered the vote of thanks.
IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar, DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Uma Prashanth and others were present.
