Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi to tour Karnataka in special bus that brought him 'luck' in Gujarat

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 30: Rahul Gandhi, who used to arrive by special flights and then hop around in helicopters, has decided to take the road route during Karnataka election. For his campaigning, he will be moving around in his 'lucky' bus.

Rahul, who faced first litmus test by way of Gujarat assembly election after being elevated as national president of the Congress, is overly joyed at the success of his strategy of touring Gujarat in a bus. His party did very well in the hustings there although it could not grab power. Rahul now plans to use the same bus bearing New Delhi registration number, as he believes it to bring luck for him.

This bus equipped with ultra modern facilities, has already arrived in the city and it is being bedecked at the Palace Ground here. The driver and technical staff of the bus too are from New Delhi, and they too are in the city.

The air-conditioned bus has facility to comfortably be seated and also lie down when required and take rest. It is equipped with a bed, toilet, and other facilities. Rahul Gandhi, who will come to the state on Fehruary 10, will attend the party's rally at Hospet and then travel around Koppal, Raichur and Kalaburagi districts. As per information, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dr G Parameshwar, two working presidents, president of campaign committee and chief minister, Siddaramaiah, will provide him company during this tour.

An important meeting of KPCC is being held on Tuesday to take stock of the preparedness of the party for the election. Office bearers of KPCC, presidents of district Congress committees, and presidents of block Congress committees will take part in the meeting. 224 tables would be laid out for 224 constituencies, and block presidents and office bearers of respective constituencies would be positioned around their respective tables. All India Congress Committee general secretary, K C Venugopal, and KPCC president, Dr G parameshwar, will personally gather information from individual tables like progress of 'Manemanege Congress' campaign, booth committees, and others.

Over the last few months, the BJP has attempted to stir up the already-tense communal situation in coastal Karnataka, framing local conflicts on religious lines and using Hindutva rhetoric to target Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as anti-Hindu. Siddaramaiah’s measured response, keeping his focus on his government’s achievements over the last five years, drew appreciation from many quarters. For instance, Siddaramaiah’s verbal duels with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath, who had been brought in by the BJP as a star campaigner, primarily involved pointing to the southern state’s superior social and economic indicators. However, developments over the last week have given rise to speculation that the Congress, in its attempt to counter the BJP, has decided to adopt some of the BJP’s own strategies.

The Congress should understand that by taking a leaf out of the BJP’s book, it is endangering its own stated political positions and, more worryingly, the secular character of the state.

Congress’s competitive communalism in Karnataka will only end up hurting the party. Karnataka is not Gujarat. Rahul Gandhi and Congress should be better cautious in their attempt woo voters using religion.

Wasting time RG. Sit back and relax with the corrupt money Cheddiless congress has earned in last 70 over years by looting people. May be Robert Vadra can secure you some job after the next GE. Whatever you do Congress will loose drastically in Karnataka and will be written to history books. Siddu doesn't even know which constituency he is going to contest? Is it not a joke? Bus ride, car ride is all done deal. People have come out of Pappugiri. Don't waste everybody's time. Ab Ke baad BJP Sarkar.

    @ Mohith,

Regarding corruption, I remember BJP threatening Mayavati that he will investigate disproportionate assets of Mayavati just before UP elections. Mayavati understood what BJP wanted. He made to stand 100 Muslim candidates in those constituencies where they cannot win. This way Mayavati helped BJP to spoil the votes, and helped BJP win (apart from EVM).' And finally the best part is that the BJP conveniently forgot about the cases of disproportionate assets of Mayavati. No action against Mayavati until now.

What do you call this? Anti corruption or Mutual cooperation?

Before Gujarath MLA election, BJP was boating it is a cake walk for them. But it proved wrong. It became very tough for the BJP to retain power. Thanks to Aiyyar's neech word which BJP and Modiji manipulated in their favour and also to EVM machines.

In spite of all the negative publicity and the media's biased report, still Congress could garner 99 seats. From Karnataka state, always Congress resurrected from its defeats and again this time from Karnataks State, it will come back to power.

What s a joke it is that the media want to project it as victory for Rahul. Winning Gujarath even after 2 decades odd rule is great achievement indeed for the BJP. So dont be just blind Congress supporter. Let Rahul lead Congress or give chnance to other s in the party to lead. Imagine he being our prime minister.

By visiting temples, he will loose both Hindu and Muslim votes, looks like Rahul is going to be the spoiler for Congress in Karnataka.

    1. How can we trust a 'Islamic friendly' party president who discarded his skull cap after UP electrions for electoral gains?.
    2. How can we trust a party president who turned into a 'Janeu Dhari , Shiv bakth Hindu ' and temple running in Gujarat for electoral gains?
    3. How can we trust a party president who says that his party's inclination is towards 'Soft Hindutva'.?
    4. How can we trust a pary president who never uttered a word for 'TT ban' and 'Haj subsidy ban'?

You better come and work here. You will get a chance to sell pakodas. as mentioned by our beloved PM.

You don't know the reality what is happening here. People every day come up with a cv seeking a JOB and sad to say that most of them are from B.E. Jobs are not available here, everything is messed up and the reality is if you speak against it you will become anti-national.
Cost of Living is increased but Salaries not at all increased. Those who have experienced it they know the pain better than sitting in a different country and commenting on a News Headline.
