Bidar bandh over girl's murder turns violent, MP hurt in lathi charge

Bidar Jan 31 (DHNS): Incidents of stone throwing occurred in Bidar city when a protest against the murder of a schoolgirl in a village in Bhalki taluk, suddenly turned violent on Tuesday.

The police resorted to lathi charge to restore order.

The Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike had called for a Bidar bandh.

Bidar MP Bhagawant Khuba of the BJP was mildly injured in the lathi charge. One of the stones hit District Superintendent of Police D Devaraj in the shoulder.

Over 25 others were also hurt. Police vehicles were damaged in stone-throwing. The situation is now back to normal, the police said.

Khuba demanded a judicial inquiry into the lathi charge and submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Sri Rama Sena, ABVP and district Savita Samaja had supported the bandh. All shops and business establishments in the city remained closed since morning.

"We had not given permission for the procession to enter old Bidar city, which has a larger Muslim population," said police sources.

    frankly speaking people are fed up of bjp now they are talking against bjp they know they are fooled in name of development.     Although I am not supporting rapist. I ask a question do these hypocrites do they protest against rapist and murderors from their own community
    some of them small girls as small as 5 months recent delhi case. this shows they are only doing vote bank politics as per them if a woman is raped by other community is wrong but their own community can rape and kill as many women, girls, children as possible... internation fanatic hypocrites.

    Deliberate attempt to give a communal colour to every incident by the sanghis, since elections are around the corner. They know that they cannot win elections without dividing and polarizing society. They are spreading the cancer which they have created in Dakshina Kannada elsewhere in the state. With sanghis around we do not need the ISIS and the Taliban to divide the country, this poison is enough.

    few days back i read an article about a poem went viral by a young poet 'Shava Bekide' and it suits now and his words are 100% true. BJP needs death bodies to win the election and if the death body of hindu killed by a minority community goonda is a feat for them and its been proven by Mahindra Kumar of ex bajrangdal.
