Udupi: Coastal Development Authority Formed Soon - B S Yeddyurappa

Udupi, Aug 3: The chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said that Coastal Development Authority will be set up shortly, in order to develop the neglected areas in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
Speaking to media persons at Sri Mookambika temple, Kollur after performing the Navachandika Yaga at the temple on Sunday August 3, he said that the chairman for the authority will be appointed within 15 days. The authority will be allowed six months to submit its detailed report, he added.
Rs 30 crore will be sanctioned to avoid pollution in the Souparnika river which flows through Kollur. The first installment of Rs 10 crore will be released soon. Meanwhile, state government will hand over Rs 2 crore to union government for developing the Byndoor railway station, out of Rs 8 crore required, he told.
Ministers Dr V S Acharya, Shobha Karandlaje, Krishnayya Shetty and Ramachandre Gowda, BJP state president Sadanand Gowda, MLCs Bharati Shetty and Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs Lalaji R Mendon, Raghupati Bhat and K Lakshminarayan and Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, managing trustee of the temple were present on the occasion.
B S Yeddyurappa performed Navachandika Yaga on Saturday for the welfare of Kannadigas, which was led by temple priests Sridhar Adiga and Narasimha Adiga.
