Udupi: Graduation Day of SDM College of Ayurveda held

Udupi, Aug 5: The graduation day of SDM College of Ayurveda, Udyavar,  was held at 11.00 am on Tuesday August 5, at their Bavaprakash auditorium.

Dr Rajashekar Varrier, vice-chancellor, Manipal University, conferred the degrees on successful students. Speaking on the occasion, he said that death is a certainty, but doctors have the responsibility of treating their patients holistically.

In an era of globalization, treatments and medications are constantly changing which call for continued studies by doctors in order to keep abreast with times. Allopathic and homeopathic treatments are also effective and doctors are advised to draw the best from each depending on the patient's disease, he said.

Dr K R Ramachandra, vice-principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, administered the oath to the students. Dr Yasho Varma, secretary, SDM Education Trust, Ujire, presided over the programme.

Dr U N Prasad, principal, SDM College of Ayurveda, and Dr Y N Shetty, medical superintendent, were present on the dais. Dr B V Prasanna, dean of faculty, Manipal University, was the chief guest.
