Mangaluru, Apr 22: Srikar Prabhu, who will be contesting as independent candidate from Mangaluru South in the upcoming Karnataka elections, on Sunday April 22 launched his campaign vehicle at Bunts Hostel here.

A former BJP leader who was expelled from party in 2014, Srikar Prabhu addressing the gathering said, "I have chalked out a strategy to win the elections. I know how to win. I am aware of the mindset of the voters. It is not easy to contest as an independent candidate but the personality of the candidate matters a lot. I am here to serve people and this is why I am contesting in this election.

"When candidates get selected in other parties, it always leads to disquiet within the party. Political system has become bad, and in order to experience this system, some candidates enter it. Political parties think people are fools. Actually they are not - voters are intelligent enough to select the right candidates," he said.

"When tickets were denied, some aspirants of a political party expressed displeasure and passed statements about it. My fight is against the extremely arrogant party. The ministers till date have no broad vision about this region. They have used their power for their own selfish motives.

"Preparation is under way in 10 phases for the upcoming elections, starting from today with the launch of this campaign vehicle. This is one of the strategies ahead of polls. My service during the last four years will play a role in the elections, which will put other candidates in trouble. I will predict the margin of my victory in the coming days," said a confident Srikar Prabhu.

Srikar Prabhu will file his nomination on April 23, after which a procession will be carried out from MCC to Bunts Hostel.

Srikar Prabhu's supporters, Suresh Shetty, Jyothi Suresh Shetty, Srinath Prabhu, R K Shastri, K P Shetty, Premachandra and others were present.

BJP will loose some votes with Prabhu's contest. He might get some votes from Baliga supporters (social acitivist) ... Still .. not easy to win ... might help Lobo to get loose some votes ... will definitely loose.. possibilities are very less. He is Nalin Kumars rival like Satyjith suratkal and Palemar.... Nalin will definitely have some setback///

The common worker irrespective of religion, party, associations will not get recognition nor his due share. Suddenly the unknown influencial person will come to the stage for honour or position will be given to them ignoring the grass root level worker.

Better not to waste our time on all these so called orgianisation or groups, before we realize, it is too late and time, age, energy is lost.

We wish Srikar all the best.

In my opinion, the political system in India needs a complete revamp. Every political party and its members are taking people for a ride by offering a pittance when compared to the loot. People are getting fooled over and over again. I hope we all agree to this. I wish and pray that all the citizens of India understand this without any bias. Coming to whom to vote, do we really have a choice ? We are forced to vote for lesser of the evil. Considering this situation, i believe its better to vote for any independent candidate who maybe be useless but at-least may not loot like the big parties do. It will be a big blessing on India, if any party is formed with an agenda to compeltely change the Political System in India for good.
