Mangaluru, Apr 23: Former police sub-inspector Madan and Srikar Prabhu filed their nominations as independent candidates from Mangaluru South on Monday, April 23.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination Madan said, “There has been a complete lapse in the political system. I am here to correct it. There are 224 constituencies, but there are no youth representatives as they hesitate to join politics. Today, politics is dominated by old people. I am here to bring changes which did not happen in the last 70 years. I feel, at least 70 per cent of youth in the country need to join politics,”
“My utmost priority is to maintain law and order which has completely failed. We need to strengthen judiciary. I will also inspire youths to enter politics. Politicians have used power to satisfy their own selfishness. I will put a full stop to the murders taking place in the state,” he added.
“The development of the city is also one of the main concerns for me. I am to improve drainage system and correct other civic issues in the region,” he concluded.
Madan along with his supporters held a procession from Bejai to MCC prior to filing the nomination.
The former police sub-inspector (SI) had tendered his resignation to the department earlier this year. An MBA graduate hailing from Madikeri, Madan has served six years as sub- inspector in different stations such as Kadri, Bunder and Bajpe.
