Bengaluru: BJP crushes rebellion - expels revolters

Bengaluru, May 2: BJP has not only discharged all the party workers who have entered the fray as rebel candidates against its official candidates including MLA, Tippeswamy, who has entered election against official party candidate, Sriramulu, but also expelled them from the party for a period of six years.

Through a decision to this affect taken on the evening of Tuesday May 1, state BJP president, Yeddyurappa, sent clear signals to the party activists who are beginning to express resentment against the party leadership both internally and in open forums. It is gathered that Yeddyurappa took this action in consultation with party's national president, Amit Shah, who has camped in the state since the last four days for guiding electoral strategy. It is said that the party has decided to crush dissidence within the party through strict action within the next couple of days.

The people who have been discharged from all responsibilities of the party happen to be Molakalmuru MLA, Tippeswamy, Gajanan Rehmani from Khanapur assembly constituency, Jagadish Metagudda from Bailahongal, Suraj Naik Soni from Kumta constituency, Ramech Panchagatti fromRamadurg constituency, Mahadev from Malavalli, V C Patil from Ranebennur, Odogangappa from Hoovinahadagali, Bangari Hanumantha from Sandur constituency, Somanna Bevinamarad from Shiggaon constituency, Gopikrishna from Tarikere, Hanumakka from Holalkere, Dileep Kumar from Gubbi, Navalagi Hiremath from Hungund and Sangamesh Nirani from Jamkhandi constituency.
