Mangaluru, May 3: ‘Chintlam', the second Konkani music album by singer Lawrence D’Souza, will be released on Wednesday, May 9 at Palimar.
“When I released my first album ‘Istageeth’, there was good response from the Konkani music world. It gave me a special recognition in Konkani speaking community. Because of this, I was compelled to do its second release through music App. I have developed my own music App LVL tunes and released all songs of ‘Istageeth’ on this App. Music lovers in different corners of the world can listen to my songs through LVL tunes,” Lawrence told Daijiworld.
“Based on the success of ‘Istageeth’ and with support of my family and close friends, I decided to release my second album ‘Chintlam’. My wife Veena D’Souza is the producer of this album. I assure, the album ‘Chintlam’ will give a special musical treat to all music lovers in Konkani world,” he said.
‘Chintlam’ consists of 13 songs rich in poetic style and melody, touching upon social issues besides the theme of love and romance. The songs are carefully picked to suit the taste of the listeners across genres,” he informed.
Renowned Konkani lyrists, Wilson Kateel, Jocy Siddakatte, Vincy Lasrado, Vincy Pinto, Joel Attur, Roshan Sanctis and Lawrence himself have written the lyrics for this album. Coastal wood music director Dolwin Kolalgiri has composed music for eight songs while promising musicians Roshan V Carderio has given music for five songs.
Majority of the tunes have been composed by Dolwin Kolalgiri while Roshan V Carderio, Vincent Lasrado, Gavin Menezes and Jocy Siddakatte have each composed a tune. The album has been recorded at Daijiworld Audio Visual Studio.
Famous stars of Konkani music world Prajoth D'Sa, Joshal Sweeda, Joel Attur, Anitha D’Souza, and Ashwin D’Costa have rendered their voices to ‘Chintlam’. Nihal Tauro, Mohammad Iqbal, Dolwin, Gavin, Asha Fernandes, Steven Aranha, and Jasmine Inish D’Souza have also lent their voices for the album along with Lawrence who is already popular for his melodious voice.
Lawrence D’Souza was an amateur singer, but his love for music has prompted him to bring out a complete music album by bringing together experienced music composers, singers, and lyricists. In his first project ‘Istageeth’ itself, he showed the world how passionate he is about music. ‘Chintlam’ is a special album with variety of songs which will definitely make a mark in Konkani music industry.
Renowned musicians and artistes of Konkani and Kannada world will grace the release event on May 9. The special dance and live music show will be the major attraction of the album releasing event.
