Kundapur: Thieves break windows of parked cars at wedding, decamp with valuables

Kundapur, May 4: Thieves broke into parked cars of guests at a wedding party in Koteshwar and decamped with cash, documents and gold worth lacs.

On Thursday May 3, the wedding of Sushmitha and Raghavendra was held at Majestic auditorium, near Koteshwar. Relatives of the bride and bridegroom, Nandroli resident Narayana Shetty and Mangaluru resident Sandeep Shetty, had parked their cars in the parking lot of the hall and proceeded to attend the wedding.


Upon return, the guests were shocked to see the rear windows of their cars broken and their valuables missing. Narayana Shetty had a 26 grams gold necklace, gold ring and Rs 3,000 cash in the car while Sandeep had kept his gold ring, PAN card, ATM card and Aadhaar card in the car, all of which were stolen.

The hall is situated close to the busy national highway. The parking lot is situated outside the hall. Though the hall had security guard and CCTV cameras installed, the day light robbery has come as a surprise to many.

A complaint is registered in Kundapur police station. The police arrived the spot to investigate the case.
