Dubai, May 8: Mangalurean Sparsha Shetty, grade 7 student of Indian High School, here, has bagged the prestigious ‘Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence' of cycle 24 for the year 2017-2018 under the category ‘Excellent Student’. Sparsha is also a proud recipient of the prestigious Sheikh Hamdan award for the year 2015.
She is the daughter of Prakasha Shetty and Shushma Shetty who have been residing in the city since 12 years. Her paternal grandparents are late Mahabala Shetty and late Saraswathi Shetty from Kilenjoor Madara Mane, Kinnigoli and maternal parents are Nithyananda Shetty and Shamala Shetty from Belkale Ajjara Mane, Udupi. She plays a major role as the doting sister to her younger brother Prasham Shetty.
Sparsha excels not only in academics but also in various co-curricular activities. She is a scholar at her school and loves to pursue her skills and hobbies. She has been an 'Honor' student in IBT and Asset exams as well as an active athlete. A recipient of several accolades in sports, badminton being one of them, she has represented her school at UAE level badminton and inter-school level athletics
Sparsha is passionate about dancing and getting trained in various dance forms with Bharatanatyam at the top. She has performed across India and believes dance is meant to be an expression of words through beautiful movement. Sparsha has won several competitions in dance and wants to it up as an integral part of her life.
Sparsha has a great interest in art and has won several medals at interschool and UAE level painting. As a super reader of her school she has represented it at many reading contests.
Sparsha is a young gravellier and will be represent her club at UAE level in different categories of public speaking. She is head monitor of her section in school. In 2017, Sparsha had an opportunity to represent her school at ‘Round Square International conference’ held in Punjab. Her experience in this conference is truly memorable as it gave her wings on the journey to public speaking.
In addition, Sparsha feels charity is not a part of life but is life and has been associated with multiple NGOs. She does her best to support them as per her age. Sparsha believes in the need for sustainable environment and as a member of organizations, she is provided a platform to do her best for the environment. She drives many initiatives in her community to raise awareness on many environmental topics.
Sparsha is born and brought up in UAE. She admires UAE for its unmatched humanity and loads of opportunities. Sparsha, has received the Sheikh Hamdan award for distinguished student from HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum thanks to his efforts in identifying young talent and nurturing them. She is elated to receive from HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad al Qasimi. She thanks him and Sharjah Education council for recognizing her efforts. She thanks the Almighty for His blessings, all her mentors for giving their best and all her family and friends for the constant support they provided her throughout her journey.
