Bantwal: One seriously injured in fight between activists of two political parties

Bantwal, May 10: In an incident that occurred on the night of Wednesday, May 9, near Nandavara temple here, one person was seriously injured after two groups of people belonging to different political parties clashed with each other for a trivial matter.

It is said that a meeting had taken place at the house of an activist of a party at Nandavara on the night of Wednesday. It is learned that many local activists of that party attended the said meeting. It is alleged that after the meeting was over, activists from some other political party raised derogatory slogans against the activists of the party who held the meeting. This led to heated verbal arguments and ended up in the fight.

During the fight that ensued, it is learned that one person got seriously injured and he has been admitted in a local hospital.

Bantwal police visited the spot of the incident and resorted to mild lathi- charge to disperse the crowd. They also closed the nearby shops to bring the situation under control.

    The accusation that activists belong to other political party is simply an excuse .., may be the fight between & among themselves...., the thick & fat money flow may be the cause & reason...,
