11.20 pm: Sudden change of plans - Congress and JD(S) MLAs may be proceeding to Puducherry in buses, say sources. The move has been reportedly planned to evade BJP's attempts to track down the MLAs. Other sources said they may proceed to Hyderabad.

10.56 pm: Congress MLAs leave Eagleton resort in buses, while JD(S) MLAs leave from Shangri La.

10.53 pm: BJP leaders meet at a private hotel in Bengaluru. In attendance are CM Yeddyurappa, union minister Prakash Javadekar, senior leaders Muralidhar Rao, Ananth Kumar, Dharmendra Pradhand, Renukacharya, C M Udasi and others.

10.35 pm: MLAs to proceed to Kochi by road after DGCA denies permission for chartered flights, say reports. DGCA sources told NDTV that such small flights are not allowed late at night by the ATC.

10.26 pm: Katta Jagadish Naidu reportedly assaulted near Eagleton resort where he had gone to meet Congress MLAs. Katta Jagadish is the son of senior BJP leader Katta Subramanya Naidu. He reportedly visited the resort to lure the MLAs, said reports.

10.25 pm: Congress and JD(S) have reportedly requested for mobile jammers at Kochi resort so that no one contacts the MLAs.

10.20 pm: Congress and JD(S) MLAs to fly to Kochi at midnight or 3 am flight. All arrangements in place to welcome the MLAs in Kochi resort, say sources.

10.14 pm: Directorate general of civil aviation is delaying permission for the charter flight to Kochi, which is supposed to fly Congress MLAs, reports NDTV. Three chartered flights reportedly cancelled.

10.05 pm: "We are meeting Bihar governor tomorrow at 1 pm to stake claim to form government in our state. We did not get equal opportunity to form government. We should be given the same time as the BJP in Karnataka. We are single largest party and confident of passing the floor test," says RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

9.49 pm: "The BJP is trying to lure MLAs with crores as bribe and promises of ministerial berths. We will form a coalition government very soon," says Ramalinga Reddy, who is at the Eagleton resort.

9.45 pm: "The BJP is applying different rules for different states. There is undue pressure on our MLAs. BJP is threatening our MLAs. We are united against the BJP. The chowkidar of the nation has become a chor," says Kharge who is at Hotel Ashoka.

9.41 pm: "Karnataka governor's decision is unconstitutional. We will hold strong protests in every district," says Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge.

9.39 pm: Kochi resort a safe haven for Congress and JD(S) MLAs, say sources. The Kerala government has agreed to provide them security, they say.

9.37 pm: "All MLAs are in Bengaluru. BJP is accusing us of forgery while they are the ones who have done it. We have full faith in the Supreme Court. It will not repeat the same mistake as the governor," says Ghulam Nabi Azad.

9.35 pm: Former state home minister Ramalinga Reddy told reporters: "MLAs will be shifted tonight. We will tell you more later. JD(S) MLAs are not coming along. The place has not been decided yet." 

9.30 pm: "BJP cannot use two kinds of rules for one game. BJP, central government and their governors have been exposed in front of the nation. It should be the duty of central govt to protect the constitution and democracy but it is unfortunate that we have to protect these from the central govt," says Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

9.06 pm: Rahul Gandhi reportedly spoke to JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda on phone on the latest political developments in Karnataka.

9.04 pm: Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot and Ghulam Nabu Azad also reach Eagleton resort. 

9.03 pm: Anand Singh to resign but not sure of supporting BJP. He was reportedly threatened by ED. He is already facing ED cases over illegal mining.

9.00 pm: Two Lingayat Congress MLAs reportedly 'missing'.

8.53: Former CM Siddaramaiah is at Eagleton Resort with MLAs. He claimed that all Congress MLAs are present at the resort and denied reports of defection. "It is unethical and unconstitutional that they are trying to woo our MLAs. No MLA will yield to their demand," he said. Siddaramaiah also said that since the assembly has not been formed, the BJP cannot elect its own speaker as of now.

8.51: Congress MLAs to be flown to Kochi in two chartered planes tonight Sources say over a 100 rooms have been booked in a Crown Plaza hotel. However, both Congress and JD(S) are yet to confirm the same.

8.50 pm: JD(S) MLAs to go to Kerala, will leave tonight

8.39 pm: Prabhuling Navadgi, a University Law College alumni, appointed new Advocate General of Karnataka in place of Madhusudan R Naik, who has resigned from the post.

    DKShi ensured Ahmed Patel's victory in Rajya Sabha elections by securing all the Congress MLAs from Gujarat. Amit Shah had to bite a bitter pill then. Looks like history will repeat. Interesting turn of events!

    For those who are hoping for "Congress Mukth Bharath", please remember. For effective functioning of a democracy, a strong opposition party is a must. Else absolute power has a great likelihood of transforming into dictatorship, and misery.
