Konkani hymns album ‘Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’ to release on Jun 20

Honnavar, Jun 18: 'Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’, an audio CD of Konkani hymns rendered by Brazil Gonsalves and Benjamin Miranda is all set for release on the occasion of centenary celebration of Our Lady of Fatima and inauguration of Infant Jesus Shrine at Honnavar on June 20.

The audio CD, which will create a devotional ambiance in every household, is harmonized by Brazil Gonsalves and Benjamin Miranda. The tune, harmony and music have been rendered by Benjamin Miranda. The album has 10 devotional songs along with one Kannada hymn.

Dr Derek Fernandes, bishop of Karwar diocese has rendered an impromptu in the album. Lyrics by Brazil Gonsalves have been corrected by Fr Antony Lopez and late Fr Thomas Misquith.

Dr Prashant Raj, Sangeetha Balachandra, Stephen Frank, Nihal Tauro, Joshal, Murriel D’Souza, Jeevan Frank and Blenny D’Costa have rendered their voices to the songs.

Daijiworld singing reality contest participants too have rendered their voices. Sopranos are Ashwija Mendonca, Aslita and Prithuma Monteiro, while tenor and bass is by Deepak and Royston. Joylene Lobo and Sheryl Machado have joined for alto.

Dolwin Kolalagiri has contributed with rhythm programming and music is arranged and programmed by Stephen Frank. The album has been mixed and mastered by Srikant Shrinivas and Ashith Pinto at Daijiworld Audio Visual Studio, Mangaluru.

Benjamin Miranda, a qualified teacher T C, London is a native from Samsi in Honnavar. He has been serving as a music teacher for the last 20 years preparing students for Trinity College, London grade exams and diplomas. Under him, over 31 students have completed 8th grade.

Brazil Gonsalves hails from Chandavar. Presently, he is a parishioner of New Infant Jesus Church Shrine, Prabhat Nagar in Honnavar and Rosario Cathedral Mangaluru. He has completed MCom and MA (SOC). He is also the former editor of Ujwal Konkani monthly magazine BPK Honnavar. He has also served as programme cordinator at Sarpi Centre, Honnavar and as an accountant.

    Congratulations to Brazil and Benjamin for bringing out this collection of Devotional Hymns on the auspicious occasion of the inauguration of the Infant Jesus Shrine of the Diocese of Karwar. The rendition of the title hymns to honour Infant Jesus and Our Lady of Fatima is excellent together with other devotional hymns. The presence of renown singers and musicians has certainly added to the professional quality of this production.
