Mangaluru, Jun 27: In two separate incidents, two persons ended their lives in the city on Wednesday, June 27.
In the first incident, a 60-year-old man, residing behind Garodi temple, committed suicide by hanging at Nagori at his tailoring shop on the wee hours of Wednesday.
Vishwanath Tailor has been identified as the deceased.
It is learnt that Vishwanath had to repay huge loans taken from banks. It is said that Vishwanath met one of friend in the early hours of Wednesday and asked a loan of Rs 4,000 to pay an installment of one of his bank loans. His friend managed to give only Rs 2,000. After taking the amount from his friend, it is said that Vishwanath went to his tailoring shop and hanged himself.
Yashwanth and Sumathi
Vishwanath is survived by his wife and two sons.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 35-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house at Sowjanya lane, Padau village, Bikarnakatte here on Wednesday, June 27.
The deceased has been identified as Sumathi. She is survived by her husband Yashwanth and 4-year-old daughter Avani.
According to sources, it is alleged that Yashwanth had an illicit affair with another woman and used to harass Sumathi.
The body has been shifted to Wenlock hospital morgue. A complaint was registered by Kankanady town police.
