Mangalore, Oct 4: Western range IGP A M Prasad told mediapersons on Friday October 3 that the suspected terrorists have been identified as Mohammed Ali (56), resident of Mukkachari, Jawed Ali (20), student of Quranic studies in Ullal, Naushad (25), a resident of Subhashnagar engaged in construction work, and Ahmed Bawa (33), a resident of Haleyangady, engaged in petty business.

Mohammed and Javed are a father-son duo, and the former is a tempo driver. He is said to be a devout Muslim who wanted to set up an Islamic centre in his neighbourhood. City sleuths are also on the lookout for one Ahmed who is an engineer by profession and is thought to have been in contact with some of those arrested on Friday.

The police have seized from them four passports, two computer hard disks, a laptop, hundreds of CDs, 10 mobile sets, five grenades, religious books, a map, records of land dealings, several SIM cards belonging to telecom providers in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, (both used and unused) and cash amounting to Rs 11.39 lac, said the police official.

The suspects used voter identity cards of different persons to procure the SIM cards. An investigation about the source of money and its distribution point, will be investigated later, he said. Prasad informed that more persons will be arrested within a few days.

The IGP also indicated the possibility that the detainees were in contact with Indian Mujahideen, the outfit that took responsibility for the serial bomb blasts in different parts of the country. S P Satheeshkumar was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, raids on suspected terrorist shelters are in progress with the number of arrested reaching 11 now. New Delhi police have taken custody of Ahmed Bava, who had returned from the Gulf six months ago and started a fancy shop in Kinnigoli, near here.

Police sources claim that Roshan Khan of Bhatkal, the mastermind of the Delhi bomb blasts, had been to the city a few days ago. The terror suspects arrested by the police had helped him during his stay in the city and dropped him at the bus stand. The district police are believed to have been successful in obtaining a photograph of his which might help in the manhunt.

Mangalore: Another Suspect Taken into Custody from Haleangadi

Mangalore, Oct 4: Police inspector Venkatesh Prasanna and other personnel of the district crime intelligence bureau(DCIB) have taken into custody a person named Ahmed Bawa(29) from Halengady Indiranagar near Mulky on Friday October 3. It is suspected, that he is associated with the terrorists belonging to the Indian Mujahideen.

Although the locals resisted, the police team which arrived at his house opposite Bollur mosque in the morning, succeeded in nabbing him. The policemen also raided the house of his wife's parents in Sasihithlu Kadike and took possession of a mobile phone.

Bawa had gone to the gulf after completing SSLC in Haleangady government PU college. He came back a year ago and opened a fancy shop in Kinnigoly, in his brother's name.

The locals said, that he used to lead a luxurious life of late, and visited Bangalore a number of times. He used luxury cars for his travel, they added. He has been a cricket player since his student days, and is a member of the Bollur cricket team, it is learnt.

Be the voice of the voiceless. This is what I expect from the great police force. Police is proving to be the biggest poli(naughty/cunning) in the society. There are hardened police officers who in the mask of government SERVICE are doing officially what these terrorists are doing from the back. Who will address this issue against Police ?

We want police to be transparent in dealing with sensitive issues but they are NOT. We also want every human being should be punished severely if found doing violence or supporting some anti-social groups. So police are dangerous terrorists than civilian terrorism.

For me, VHP and Bajarang Dal are no less terrorists than the recent terrorists behind the blasts. But one difference, Hindu extremists terrorize the society openly with the patronage of BJP and administration but their counter-parts do it from the back. I see a pattern here - violence is countered by violence. But christians so far didn't do it and they don't want to.

What would the sociological analysis of origin of terror activities in India? Daijiworld should take the lead in inviting prominent sociologists to write articles . In my personal opinion( I know others may not agree with me, and thats ok), these incidence show a sense of alienation felt by minorities youth ,especially the college youth who are then easy catch for the elements bent on firmenting trouble.

WE as a nation should avoid targetting communities when crimes are committed by few and increase our Law enforcement and judicial justice by having more scientific criminologists in the police force in every district. There by they will be greatly aiding the prosecution cases and getting the guilty the punishment.

Its only when guilty go unpunished that the youth blood boils. Secondly when outfits lile sangh parivars ( antinational in my personal opinion) get sanctimonious outfits of minorities are labelled antinational( this is not right) . More independacy and district level facilities to police force. Let there be a rule that police are not transferred in less than a year.

Vincent, you belong to the terrorist organisation and not a true Mangalorean. The CD and few lakh of Rupees is not an issue. Imagine a bomb blast happening near your house and your family members all dead due to this blast, what left after. Same  people like you will blame the police and the government and cry. So stop commenting like a kid. Last month incident is not too important now. It is the Mangalore that is in trouble.
