Udupi: Pejawar Swamiji to step down if Shiroor seer’s charges are proved

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 24: "The charges made by the deceased Shiroor Swamiji in an audio released by the people close to him recently about me are false. I will step down the moment these charges are proved to be true," said Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

In a statement released to the media on Monday July 23, Pejawar Swamiji noted that the audio claims that he was involved in an affair with a lady named Padma who is claimed to be in Tamil Nadu. "In a letter that was sent during December last, which possibly was sent by the same people, the said person was claimed to be a male, duly including his family name. These differences go to prove that these are cooked up things," he stated.

Sri Vishweshateertha goes on to say that he is sure that no one believes in these allegations. He offered himself to any kind of tests or investigation in this connection as the accusations made are outright false. He stated that these things are impossible to be proved, and that if they are proved to be true, he will step down from his position forthwith.

At the same time, the Swamiji clarified that he had no role in the giving up of asceticism by Sri Raghuvallabha Theertha of Palimar Math, Manojna Theertha of Shiroor Math, and Vidyabhushan of Subramanya Math. "I tried to retain them in their positions but all of them left on their own. Therefore, projecting me as a villain in these cases is grossly incorrect," he stated. He also dismissed the allegation that he had paid five lac rupees to Raghuvallabha Theertha, duly insisting that he had not given a single penny to him.

The Swamiji noted that some people had deemed the statement made by him about Shiroor Swamiji's unjustified conduct as wrong after his death, and had questioned him about non-return of idols of the presiding deity of Shiroor Math and his not attending the last rites of Shiroor Swamiji. He said because of these allegations and objections, he was compelled to come out with the clarification that Shiroor Swamiji had grossly violated the principles of asceticism.

Adding further, Pejawar Swamiji said that he was not behind Vishwavijaya's departure. "I tried to retain him by telling him that various problems would arise if he left. But he went on his own. He left without informing me, although I had said I would make arrangements after I came back. I never sought money from Shiroor Swamiji as alleged. I deny all the other allegations for which I am ready to expose myself for open investigation anytime," he added in his statement.

If there is no connection with Shirror Seer's untimely death let him swear to 'Lord Krishna' in the presence of all repeat the same line.

When brother of the deceased Shiroor Swamiji treat this case as foul play, thorough investigation is the only need.

We all (including Swamis/Sadhvis/Priests/Babas) are human beings & tend to make mistakes. Why to point fingers at person, who is not alive now?

Let investigation take place and police reveal what went wrong.

Dear Swamiii, I had great respect for you and your matt. But when you have started siding to only one main national political party and openly supported them, forgetting other main political parties which has also equal number of Hindus, I lost respect for you. You are patronising only one political party. This is the result of any religious leader when they leave their core religious function and involve in other worldly activities.

Bad news always spread like wild fire specially about honest people and also when it comes to clean, reputed organisation.

There is nothing wrong in supporting the one party which is most favours for Hindus. It is not wrong and open secrete that the old ruled party was against the Majority people. For hindus only one or two nation Is there in this world. Where we have to GO ???. We can not go outside and start normal Hindu life in most of the countries.

Now people are targeting Hindus because they are accepting any problems

No party favours any religion except politicians are exploiting the religion sentiments in their favour. One has to take care of themselves. When you grow up and prosper, all will be around and if your pocket is empty, nobody wants you.

That is why, Religion is opium to society, which only divides.

Look like it is the beginning of an end of glorious status of UDUPI as a TEMPLE TOWN...!!!

More than swamiji's, it looks like this is a fight between Udupi Brahmins (TULU speaking, everyone one must know that udupi brahmins speak a different TULU), This is nothingUn precedented..,

not prudent to participate or remotely or privately speaking on this subject matter...!!!

Bro, I am not like you, dont think that 'hum sabh ek hi kheth ka mooli hain'. I different than you and will show others how we can be different and better.

    Dear gm, mlr

I have one small point to make..., as per Nagpur think tank...., every citizen born & living in Hindustan are by definition Hindu, means religious identity by name doesn't matter, in fact as per Shri M Bhavatji.., Hinduism is a way of life.., ( I fully agree with this definition, it is a socio-cultural identity which reflect in our eating habits, dress code, family unions, practice etc., etc., there is uniqueness that is called Hinduism). in simple Hindu is a cultural identity
Going by this definition even Albert (hope he is not FEKU) is a Hindu..,

Sadly.., now a days in the name of protecting Hinduism, FEKUISM is embracing Hinduism.. to make it as a Taliban version..., we should resist & reject it...,

In spite of all the filth happened and openly washing the dirty clothes in public, still I can say, the "glorious status of UDUPI as a TEMPLE TOWN and Mutt' will remain in tact. It was built by sacrifice and belief of million and million of people for centuries.

It is a lesson to all seers/priests, irrespective of religion, do not divulge from your core religious & spiritual duties to the worldly activities. If one will do so, even God will not be your side.

    Dear Harold sir,

I can definitely say that.., udupi Brahmin's are one who always place themselves as - "One above all" even among Brahmins/Lingayat's/Aiyers etc., due to their unique TULU language...!!!

Though I am not one among elite class..., during my social interaction .. I observed it very well.., it is obvious..., and they call & attribute it themselves as - 700 yr old "Madva Parampare"...

Just to enlighten your fact check..., all DK based Hindu's knows this..,
