These "Sammelans", whether they belong to the "Thulu" community or whether they belong to "Kannada" community or even "Thelugu", Tamil or "Malayalam" community, these gatherings have their own tradition and style to display. They have many veterans appear for these gatherings and they narrate a prolonged history of their culture added with variety entertainments and traditional food and history to display.

We have attended some of the major "Sammelans" in Houston, Texas, and these groups gather in several hundreds with their generations of families and friends and spend their precious time of unity with various traditional cultures and pageantry.

In the Western world, these kind of gatherings are welcomed with joy because they bring various traditional glamor for a seasonal 'get together' where they get the opportunity to meet and greet their old friends and relatives so that they can share all the past history and plan various positive displays in preparation of the future for the new and modern generation
