Mangaluru: 'Gandharva Gaana' enthralls Yesudas' fans at Don Bosco Hall

Mangaluru, Aug 5: 'Gandharva Gaana', a tribute to the living legend Padma Shree Dr K J Yesudas was held on Saturday, August 4 at Don Bosco Hall.

The event was jointly organized by Bhandary Builders and Surabhi Sounds and Lightings, Mangaluru.

Sandalwood singer Ajay Warrier and other dignitaries inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, proprietor of Ideal Ice Creams Mukund Kamath said, “I thank everyone for organising this event. This is the perfect way to pay tribute to living legend Dr K J Yesudas. We have a wonderful team led by Ajay Warrier who will entertain the audience with songs of Dr K J Yesudas.”

President of Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkutta, Mangaluru, Jagadish Shetty said, "People achieve a lot in different fields, but the life of a musician always brings satisfaction. Musicians will not have any ego or attitude because they are so involved in music. They have the power to connect with God through music.”

Managing director of Daijiworld Television Alex Castelino said, "I thank Lakshmish Bhandary and Damodar Bhagawath for organising this beautiful event where people have come in large numbers to enjoy listening to the songs of K J Yesudas.”

Managing director Bhandary Builders Lakshmish Bhandary said, "Last year, we had organised a tribute to Dr K J Yesudas. This is our second edition. The idea and concept was from Damodar Bhagawat and singer Ajay Warrier which was executed successfully. Last year, we received great response. We are back to entertain people of Mangaluru.”

Meanwhile, proprietor of Ideal ice creams Mukund Kamath kicked off the event singing 'Jab Deep Jale Aana', a hit track of K J Yesudas from the movie ‘Chitchor’.

Ajay Warrier rendered songs 'Sastanga Vandane', 'Aaj Se Pehle Aaj Se Zyada', 'Andhavo Andhavo’, 'Goriya Re O Goriya Re' and many more other numbers of Dr K J Yesudas. There were duet performnces by Ajay Warrier and Sasikala.

Managing director of Bhandary Builders Lakshmish Bhandary along with singer Sahana also sang one of the famous numbers of Dr K J Yesudas.

Deepak Jayasheelan, Rajgopal Mangaluru, Tony B D Silva, Prakash Anthony, Rajesh Bhagawath and Jayaprakash Payyannor assisted the band.

Senior Journalist Manohar Prasad compered the programme.

Partner of Yajamana Industries Varadharaj Pai and others were present.

    Jesudas is really blessed by god. There is more than human to his achievements.People can have their own views .But he is indeed a living legend .May god give him long life and enthrall us with his divine voice.
