Bengaluru, Aug 14: According to reliable sources there is a strong probability that Priyanka Gandhi, sister of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, is going to take the responsibility of getting more seats for the Congress party from the state of Karnataka in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

When Congress was in doldrums decades ago, Karnataka had elected Indira Gandhi and helped the Congress regain the hold in the centre. Incidentally, the current situation of the Congress party is also similar to this. Priyanka is expected to fill the spot of Indira Gandhi. The party is mooting to grab more seats in the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi.

Though the state party leaders are unaware with regards to Priyanka contesting the upcoming elections from Karnataka, they are saying that the probability of Priyanka campaigning in the state extensively in order to gain more seats for Congress cannot be ruled out. The senior leaders of the party high command think that leadership of Priyanka in the state election campaign will be an emotional benefit for the party.

Barring Rahul, Priyanka is seen as the second most influential star campaigner for the Congress party in the next Lok Sabha elections. In addition, as Rahul will be contesting from Amethi or some other constituency, Priyanka will be the support of the party in one or two states. The Congress leaders of the state are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Priyanka.
