Madikeri: RSS and Muslim NGO work together to mitigate hardships

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (SP)

Madikeri, Aug 26: Amid suffering of people and devastation all around in Kodagu district, there is a silver lining too. The people involved went on to prove that in the face of nature and compulsions of life, caste, religion, faith etc fade into the oblivion and humanitarian values alone stand apart.

Displaced people have been housed in Rama Mandir, mosque and church at Suntikoppa in Kodagu without taking into account the religious affiliations of the people. The same food is prepared and served to everyone. People of different religions have been spending time together under a single roof, in harmonious environment. They have been found exchanging Bakrid and Varamahalakshmi festival wishes.

Activists of Seva Bharathi, a sister concern of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bhadravathi-based Usmania Charitable Trust have worked side by side to rescue the affected people and provide them shelter. Because of their ideal way of functioning, both the organizations have come in for lavish praise.

People from Galibeedu in Madikeri taluk and Kadamakallu have been affected by landslides and floods. A number of houses have been washed away and bridges and roads have been consumed by water. A number of people who got stranded in these villages were crying for help when both the above organizations rushed to their rescue, launched joint operations, and saved the villagers.

J B T Babu, president of Usmania Charitable Trust, Bhadravathi, said that Basha and four others visited RSS camp at Madikeri and proposed joint rescue operations. Seva Bharathi too agreed for it, and joint operations continued from August 21 to 24, after which the members of the trust returned to Bhadravathi. He said that Seva Bharathi worked harmoniously with the trust volunteers and dealt with them with respect. He said that the joint operations will be a model for NGOs run by other communities and also teach others how to behave during emergencies.

Kodagu district RSS Pracharak, Avinash, also said that both the organizations have worked together and this will pave way for harmonious coexistence.

Please do not get over excited about this news. These are common things during natural disasters.
If they continue the same peace and harmony, the existence of their respective organizations will be at risk.

Muslim NGO not belong to any political party, RSS nothing but BJP. Thus there is no problem from BJP. You can consider all other political party is communal.

Do you mean to say all members of BJP have membership in RSS too? Neither BJP nor RSS is restricted to a particular community. While RSS is a social organization, BJP comprises members of different communities. When late AB Vajpayee founded the BJP in 1980 he had welcomed members of all communities.

Why mum on PFI and RSS affiliations worked together in shuntikoppa, Kushal nagar and in Kerala too. In disaster places volunteers of all religions don’t carry or argue on their identities. All the volunteers who rush for services are from lower middle class of irrespective of religions, they know hardships. Those who give venomous speech from upper cast or attention seekers never comes to rescue of common people.
God given opportunity to understand whether we need politics of hate or humanity and mutual compassion!

Well done to all these kind hearted organisations, who stood beyond their religious faiths and worked purely on humanitarian values. Kudos to all, especially the RSS, who has come out in a well praiseworthy manner. I hope and wish, the fragrance of this association will move to all over India and this can no doubt create a better India for all.

There is no RSS blood group and Muslim or Christian blood group.
At the end all are human beings having uniform characteristics.
Man made religion for their betterment and now killing each other in the name of religion instigated by politicians purely for vote bank. It is heartwarming to see all communities united in times of disasters and helping one another.

Please note at the end all are human beings and all are Indians. Religion is man made and misused by politicians, nothing more than that. We are supposed to live like this not only during calamity but also during ordinary times.
