Kuwait: ICSPA's Disha -2008 Receives Overwhelming Support

Kuwait Nov 24:  The Indian Community School Parents' Association (ICSPA) organized a competitive event "DISHA '08" to celebrate the occasion of Children's Day on Saturday November 22 at the Indian Community Senior School (Girls) auditorium in Salmiya. This is the second year running in which "Disha" is being conducted. The first event "DISHA 07" was held on November 10, 2007 with nearly 1100 participants across 5 competitions. This year with an overwhelming response around 1,400 participants participated in the event. The event was followed with the preliminary round conducted on November 14 and 15 at ICSK, for the students of the Indian Community School.




























The programme started with lighting of lamp by the chief guest K N Rao, first secretary Indian Embassy, Rajan Daniel, secretary (Board of Trustees), Ajit Rajan, secretary (ICSPA), Archie Menezes, joint secretary (Board of Trustees) and Mushtaq Y Dalvi, president ICSPA.  Mushtaq Y Dalvi welcomed the gathering followed by speeches from the guests.  Ajit Rajan proposed the vote of thanks.

All the principals and Co- principals were honoured with flowers.  The competition part was very unique with 5 types of competitions such as Extempore Elocution, Singing, Ad Zap, Mock Press and Adapt Tune along with drawing and painting.   After whole day's competitions, prizes were distributed at the end. ICSK Jr/Sr. Branch was declared as inter-branch champions for the second consecutive year.  The entire day programme was compared by Stephen Machado, Shalini Suresh, Mohammed Saleem and Rajeev Menon.
