Karnataka Sangh Chembur Organizes ‘Sahitya Sahavas—2008’

‘Sahitya Sahavas—2008’, was organized by the Karnataka Sangh of suburban Chembur, at Karnataka High School, Chembur, on Sunday November 23. The programme was presided over by Sangh president Prabhakar Bolar.
 
Tax consultant Sudhir R L Shetty was the chief guest of the occasion, who unveiled the plaque in memory of late Narayan B Anchan at Karnataka High School science laboratory, acknowledging the long association of Anchan with the Karnataka Sangh as its president.  Anchan was a distinguished lawyer and social worker in the metro.
 


Billava Association president Jaya C Suvarna presented Jayanti Kurkal literary award to senior story writer and ‘Akshaya’ monthly bulletin honorary editor M B Kukyan and Y G Shetty excellent teacher award to retired teacher and musician Vatsala Rao.
 
Veteran Yakshagana Taalamaddale Bhagavat Sheni Shyam Rao delivered the Subbayya Shetty memorial lecture on ‘Vartamanada Koota—Bavishyada Nota’. Variety events were staged by Karnataka Sangh school students.
 
B S Kurkal, Prakash Shetty Petemane, and Ram Mohan Balkunje, were present on the dais. Karnataka Sangh honorary chief secretary Gunakar H Hegde, welcomed the gathering. Cultural sub-committee secretary and journalist Dayasagar Chowta, compered the progranmme and treasurer T R Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
