R Sridharan Assumes Charge as SBI Managing Director


Mumbai, Dec 8: State Bank of India (SBI) has said that R Sridharan has taken over as Managing Director & Group Executive (Associates & Subsidiaries) of the bank.

His appointment is with effect from December 5, a press release issued here said.

Prior to this appointment, Sridharan was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank looking after its non-banking subsidiaries.

Earlier, he was the Managing Director and CEO of SBI Capital Markets, a subsidiary of SBI.

A graduate from Madras University, Sridharan joined the bank as a probationary officer in 1972, the release said, adding that since then, he has held a variety of critical and challenging assignments in the bank, both in India and abroad.
