Mumbai, Dec 8: Maharashtra governor S C Jamir greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Bakri-Id on Monday December 8.

Governor Jamir in his message said that this was one of the most sacred festivals celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The festival underlines the importance of supreme sacrifice to attain lofty goals in life. Islam stands for peace and equality and is one of the most progressive religions of the world that advocates care and compassion towards the poor and the less-privileged, he added.

The governor emphasized that the festival inspires each one to follow the path of true religion and work together for building a strong nation.
