Manama, Dec 8: Ramee Group of Hotels has drawn up plans for four star hotel in the fast developing neighbourhood of Seef in the city. Shantaram Shetty, general manager, Ramee Group of Hotels, Bahrain, signed an agreement recently for the proposed Ramee Royal Hotel, at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore.


The chain is a popular one in the Gulf, owned by Mangalorean NRI entrepreneur Raj Shetty. It has around 37 hotels, resorts, and housing complexes in India, the Middle East, and other countries.  The group has a total of 10 branches in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the upcoming venture will be its 11th property. Ramee Royal Hotel will have 25 floors with 33,000 sq ft of spacious flooring including car parking for 200 cars, eight restaurants, 120 ultra luxurious rooms, swimming pool, residential quarters, indoor stadium, and all other luxuries.  The construction is underway and the hotel is expected to be open for business by 2010, said Shantaram Shetty.




The group has a workforce of about 5,000, mainly from Karnataka and is also engaged in social service through its own charitable trust.  Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa recently felicitated Raj Shetty at the ‘Kannada Vaibhava’ organized by Bahrain Kannada Sangh, in recognition of his contributions. Ramee Hotels has plans to develop two more properties in the oil rich country.

He started with one hotel and built it into a global chain with a future expansion of $1.5 billion. V  Raj shetty & BR shetty are our(bunts & indian's) 2 tall pillars of strength & stability

    It is a great project in Bahrain by ramee group of hotels, resorts& apartments which is well established, professional,highly skilled, well organised by the Group General Manager Mr.Shantharam shetty & his team. My God's  blessing always be on this ramee group of hotels also let Mr Raj shetty's ambitions be fullfilled.
