Where are the Government City buses. The BJP government seems to have forgotten the issue after "meeting" by the Private operators!!! Where are Mr. Ashok and Mr. Palemar, Mr. DVS etc.?? A simple arithmetic is like this: 3000 employees X 10 rupees per day x 365 days is equal to one crore nine lakh per year. This much should be sufficeint to delay the process just like Mangaloreans waited for Bangalore Train for years!!

Mr. Hanumantha Kamath, we are very sorry to hear that you were threatened by so called Goonda's of Private bus owners or some one associated with them as stated by the article, we condemn such act and we fully support you and your organization.

First of all, most of citizens of M'lore fully support KSRTC Buses in M'lore city, M'lore- Upudi, M'lore-Kasargode and other distination from M'lore and othe places of DK and Udupi District, as i have seen good City and rural tansport improved a lot under present BJP Govt ( although being catholic and minority we don't support communal govt).

By introducing KSRTC buses on City and inter district doesn't harm at all, as City buses in B'lore, Mysore, Hubli, Dharward, Belgaum and other cities of Karnataka i have travelled and heard from public are pretty good, they are all well organized, come almost in time and take people which are ok for the capacity of the bus, no foot board hangind or travel, they only speak in kannada, is ok for us, they requier you to hand over your seat for elderly, disabled, and no hasseling or abusive language in the bus, if so they stop the bus and call near by police station, which is totally acceptable.

Why not, KSRTC buses in M'lore must, we have seen, sich and tired of these private buses, time for change, private buses are no good, the conductor and drivers are rude, they swear, don't stop at right stops, drive rash, cause accidents and chaos, and don't give you the change back saying that no change try to rip of people. This is not acceptable, by running KSRTC buses, lot of M'loreans will have job opportunities to get employeed as drivers and conductors and in clerical jobs with KSRTC, and with district incharge ministers like Mr. Palemar and Mr. Acharya as representitive of our respective district they can make sure priority is given to DK and udupi people (i mean locals).

Majority people will agree with such set up, there is no conspiracy about it, which Congress couldn't do it for past so many years of their Govt in power, now BJP is doing it. If they do good work and have religious tolerance they will be in power for long time. Good on you Transport Minister Ashok, being Catholic i fully support your Govt, provided you do good things for public.

first of all let us find reason of the need of nationalsing mangalore bus route.actually it is a great conspiracy of gowda governments of bangalore to get rid of mangalore's own culture of coulorful city bus' and local people language out of daily use from our own birthplace.

after nationalising bus rout there will be no tulu in bus and only gowda driver and conductor will come on our street and we will be treated as outsiders in our own place.look what devegowda and his son has done by forcefully bringing pollution creating nagarjuna power plant in our place. actually gowda govts in bangalore always treat mangalore or undivided dakshina kannada as karnataka' enemy. we here always use kannada as officail languge in school and office even our mother tongue is tulu or konkani or byari.now we should wake up against all these anti local culture attack from these bangalore gowda govts .bus nationalsing is second thing they are doing after attacking church .all local community associations should fight against this kind of harming local culture.

The Bus owners seem to have ignored the writing on the wall and appear to having a feudal mindset which is the very reason why the public have been antagonised. They seem to forget that the twin districts are growing, the awareness of the public is more and no amount of bad campaign against KSRTC worked.

So now they seem to resort to such tactics to silence the Voice of the public. They should know that Shri Kamath was not speaking on his personal behalf but was voicing the concerns of thousands of bus commuters. The stand taken by AHINDA on this issue is appreciable.

Mangalore police can only show their power against peaceful protesting women, and dont have guts to take action against local transport businessmen.
